Ya, there were a few idiots in the crowd, and as an Old Blue I apologize for them. Keep in mind one third of all freshmen at UC never graduate, I would bet you ran in more than your fair share of those who will get their diploma elsewhere. I saw one tool dressed in blue jump in front of a camera trying to get a shot of the Vol fan section and do his impression of Ozzie Ozbourne, tongue out pinkie and thumbs raised on the rock on" hand gesture. How foolish. I hope you never see your fellow fans act the fool at your home games.
As to when Mitchell went down, there was noise form the student section at first, I believe because they couldnt see what was going on, he was on the eastern sideline and they couldnt see him due to the press of bodies , but the place was silent once they figured it out. If you are saying there was noise after the first two minuets, one of us has to get our hearing checked. I know over in the alumni section where we saw the hit, you could have heard a pin drop until he gave that little wave of the hand, then the cheering was pretty loud.
I left Lefty ODouls around 7:30 on Friday night so I can remember a whole lot of polite and friendly folks dressed in orange; sorry you got such a bad impression of the folks dressed in blue.
