Azzanni Out, Martin In?

How about Butch opens Spring game with Hurd and Tee in Circle of Life drill......

No one on VN could name 3 wr coaches outside Tee and ZA without Google. Same reason for the bring back pearl/Fulmer cries - they don't understand the other options

Other than the fact he loved the Vols and we won?

Yeah, lot of other options out there...

Tee Martin was one of my favorite players off all time. I felt bad that he has always lived in Peyton's shadow among a large percentage of our fanbase. But when he disrespected the University, he lost my support.

Thank goodness this was revived. I was just thinking a new "Children! Let's pee ourselves over some possibility Tee Martin would be offered a coaching position EVEN after some imagined disrespect toward UT" thread was in order....

Wait.....how exactly did he disrespect the University?

He won the Natty.....with one of the best defenses of the 90's, 4 NFL RBs, and one of the best offensive lines UT has had in forever.....duh

Winning a NC doesn't mean his is a good teacher, which is what a good coach is anyway. He may even know what to teach but is he dedicated to making sure the players understand every thing they need to know. At heart, a coach is first and foremost a teacher and needs to be a good communicator. Is he any good at teaching football? I don't know and suppose you would have to ask his former players and fellow coaches.

Appreciate the reply, but it was in response to a post with an extremely large amount of sarcasm

Many great players have been failures for sure (Bart Starr a great example) and some that never played the game are successful at coaching. I think Tee has been coaching long enough to have good or bad references. Why do folks want Peyton? Ten dollars to a doughnut he is a perfectionist and may or may not be a good coach. However I would loved to see him come in as QB coach.

Exactly. Just because a player won this or that doesn't mean he can teach the game to someone else. Most of us have had teachers who were very smart and knew their subject well, but couldn't teach it to someone else either because they didn't have the patience, weren't good communicators, were lazy or just thought they were so much smarter than the student that they talked over their heads. My kids had coaches in high school that fell into all 4 categories.
