Winning a NC doesn't mean his is a good teacher, which is what a good coach is anyway. He may even know what to teach but is he dedicated to making sure the players understand every thing they need to know. At heart, a coach is first and foremost a teacher and needs to be a good communicator. Is he or VN's beloved Gruden any good at teaching football? I don't know and suppose you would have to ask his former players and fellow coaches.
Many great players have been failures for sure (Bart Starr a great example) and some that never played the game are successful at coaching. I think Tee has been coaching long enough to have good or bad references. Why do folks want Peyton? Ten dollars to a doughnut he is a perfectionist and may or may not be a good coach.
