Azzanni Out, Martin In?

Any body watching VOL football in the 90's will welcome him. It's a job and he will jump right back in the fold.

I'm not a fan of ZA, but let me say that Tee is not the answer and I don't see Butch going that direction after the previous interview with Tee and the result.

Nah, Manning will replace Azzanni next year. I would rather have someone who wants to be here. Besides, Tee has done very well at destroying USC as it is.

Tee's wife doesn't want to live in Knoxville. She likes the bright lights of California. Anyway, how has he performed out there? That's the important consideration. He's not much at evaluating too tall RBs.

USC is currently ranked 27th in passing while UT is ranked 67th. Considering his HC was drunk for games, he is doing pretty good.

Was he even offered the job? Or just interviewed? His wife might not have a choice here since his boss got canned

Love Tee, wish him nothing but the best. Would really like to see that include coming home to Knoxville to coach.

Having said that, not sure we're going to be in the market for new offensive coaches after the season; let's wait and see what Butch does. We certainly need to fix the passing game, but there are a number of ways to go about it; changing coaches is just one of them.

p.s. Families have misunderstandings, sometimes say things they shouldn't say. Being family means staying close in spite of those bumps in the road. Tee is family, just like Jalen Hurd is family. Let's get past it.

Three years and countless dropped passes heals many wounds.

Azzani has been wholly unimpressive and seems to be a spot where an upgrade could be made.

Tee Martin needs to take a long walk off a short pier. He completely disrespected Tennessee when he showed up in Knoxville sporting his USC hooded sweatshirt (In the Airport), seemed interested in the job, turned it down, and then played along with Lane Kiffin's BS by posting his Tennessee job turn down on twitter.

At that point, his street sign should have been taken down and replaced with a true VFL such as Al Wilson or Inky Johnson. Tee Martin is a Trojan, not a VFL IMO. Oh... And his comment about Jalen Hurd was immature, disrespectful, and just plain wrong.

100% agree. F T :good!:

Unless the new staff keeps him, it looks like Tee will be looking for work soon. If any coach needs to be replaced, I think it's Azzanni. I've heard multiple in the know folks say that the WRs aren't getting open or finishing their routes.

Tee's son goes to Catholic, and is a 2017 USC commit right now.

Amari Rodgers - Yahoo! Sports

Had his chance. He made it very clear he does not want to work here. His street should be renamed IMO.

A lot of fans really just dont like Tee. Hard to believe he was the starting QB and if it werent for him we wouldnt have a national title since the 50s..

Very true. I still remember the pass that seemed to take a full minute to get to the reliever I. The end zone so much air under it. That year there was a lot of luck involved. Plus the South Carolina game of what 37/39 passing

If we want to hear Peyton's take on football, we all better tune into FOX Sports Sunday next year. IMO he will be sitting on that panel next year.

Tee cannot move to Knoxville from SOCAL, his wife is a rising young singer.....errr well she could do the voice overs for 'Natural Gas'.....

He made his bed, now he can shat in it... made fools of us and his school with the way he acted while in Knoxville for his interview.
On another note, I may take Peter Sirmon back if he is up for grabs. From what I remember and have seen recently, he is a pretty good coach and a great recruiter. Wonder though if he is part of Sark's staff that was reported getting hammered in the morning at restaurants with him?

Azzani absolutely has to go, but there's little to no chance that Tee will be his replacement IMO.

It was not the right time for tee or his family. He was very torn about that decision. It was the hardest decision he had to make, but his family comes first and the timing was off. He wants to be back in Knoxville. It kills me to see so many hate on a man for being an upright person, and a man that is a VFL through and through.

I get the feeling Azzani is not gonna be here next year for a couple reasons.

I'd take Tee tomorrow.

IMHO, Azzanni is gone at the end of the year as is Moheny. Elder may be gone too but for much different reasons.

I'm sure he is an upright person. I loved him as a player/leader her at UT, but many didn't like some unexplainable/childish actions he has made in regards to UT.

Plus, I've seen nothing but extreme toughness and physicality from Hurd as a football player. Does Tee's statement about him show signs of ignorance as a player evaluator or was it just a plain tantrum. Either way, it didn't make Tee look good.

I don't want us to disown Tee. He was a part of a great era in Tennessee football history, but in this case, he needs to work on fixing something that he broke.

Lighten up on Tee. He's a coach and wore a hoodie for the school that employs him. Big deal. He made a comment about Hurd. It was an incorrect assessment. He would likely agree now. I suspect he was not particularly fond of how Randy and Phil were treated. Time heals all wounds.

Azzanni is a great recruiter and drove these past two classes. His receivers have dealt with injuries and we are finally seeing some emerge. Like with Butch, patience is warranted.
