Automobilia etc....

What modern day car would you choose for the Bandit car? If you were gonna redo the movie.

Hmm. It's gotta be scrappy, but also cool.

A former cop car late model Chevy caprice.

The one that's essentially the old G8 Pontiac.

So the original Bandit was a relatively new car that would have been within reach of a truck driver. It was the most performance version of a car that had several versions.

Nothing has T-tops anymore but I think open roof driving is part of the Bandit mystique.

I'd say a Mustang convertible (GT with performance package) would fit the bill. Maybe I'll get a custom paint job on mine and go find a 70s era Sally Field equivalent.

was the bandit a truck driver? I never quite got that. I know his partner had a sweet setup.

As I understand it, Burt and Jerry were a team and Burt ran interference to speed up the deliveries - I know that's how it went down with the Coors but I assumed that was SOP for them.

The rig was the Bandit's. He was hired while at a "truck rodeo" with his rig and he was the star attraction. So I've always assumed the Reynolds was also a truck driver. Just my two cents.

If we're going with the everyman car, then I would begrudgingly say Camaro since it was the sister car to the Trans-Am.

..but to hell with that.

This only works if you have the right car.

Was going to suggest that or a Z1R vette but thinking the Trans Am wasn't in an equivalent price range as these beasts

true. On the other hand, considering what the rigs cost now and what drivers make. They can afford some nice toys.

Got this for the wife today. 2013 X3 with 30k. Certified preowned and only 1 previous owner. Going to be perfect for tailgating this season!
