Aurburn says Kiff Worst Hire in SEC history..

Worst SEC hires that I can remember:

1. Zook---UF
2. Chizik---Auburn
3. Goff---UGA
4. Dubose---Bama
5. Hallman---LSU

XXL, looking back on it now, what do you and rest of Bama nation say about Coach Curry? I always thought he was a pretty decent guy.

From my POV
1. Dubose - Bama
2. fRan - Bama
3. Pappy Price - Bama

XXL Tide Fan I agree with Dubose. What he did to your program was borderline criminal. As far as Hallman for us One word - Interception game vs. Awbarn '94. Enough said.

Awbarn of all programs to call out any other program for worse hire is ludicrous. They hired a guy who was 5-13 at his last stint and resorts to driving around L.A. / Mobile with his other coaches in a limo as a gimmick. And firing a proven winner in Tubby after one rough ride. Let them rot as they are most deserving for it. BTW Awbarn is yours truly most depised program and that is the fact for many in Bayou Bengal nation.

I hope we run the score up on the warchickens. Auburn and Alabama top two inbred schools in the nation, look it up.

Auburn did not call out another program; a Birmingham reporter did. The OP misrepresented the facts.

Louisiana Monroe, but hey nothing is worse than Wyoming, what a freaking embarrasment.

Also that same year the same over paid coach beat the hell out of tenn remember? Oh and the same overpaid coach beat you at home.

Wyoming...LOL it could be even worse, Idaho could have beat you.

Give it a couple more years and you guys will revert back to talking about tradition.

I can't speak for everyone, but I thought that he was a decent coach. He had two strikes against him
1. Could not beat the barn
2. From Ga. Tech
There was still a lot of bad blood left over from the Bryant/Dodd era. After leaving, he would have been better served to hush....but he still runs his yap from time to time.

I actually think that the 4 coaches prior to Saban could be considered the last nails in Coach Bryants coffin. It took wandering in the wilderness all of those years to get us over the Bryant era. I for one am glad that we have moved on.

I have a great deal of respect for the Tennessee program but naturally don't like it much. However we do all of us a disservice when people from one southern state attempt to paint residents from another southern state as inbred rednecks. Sort of a pot meet kettle thing.

Are you sure that's the case? Maybe you've moved on but the rest of the crimson boys haven't.

OK got it now and thanks. The reporter calling out a hire is bad taste. Who knows maybe Chizik will work out - maybe not. Kiffin may not work out or maybe he will be the next Pete Carroll; a guy who did not to well in NFL but knocked it out of the park big time as a CFB coach. It is too early to knock any coach before they coach their first game in SEC.

I completely agree with this. I've always questioned why an UGA fan would call a UT fan a redneck, or a Bama fan calling an Auburn fan a hick. Just kinda silly.

It's not silly when it's correct.

Maybe not silly, but hypocritical.

Surely you believe there are fans of each school that are rednecks and those who aren't. The aren'ts can make the comment without being hypocritical.

Georgians can talk down to Alabamians; Alabamians can talk down to Mississippians; and Mississippians are just screwed. That is just the way it is.

Half of the SEC fanbase doesn't even know that UK is in thier conference. I often forget. :) Mississippians can talk down to them.

A Georgia fan at my office keeps telling me that "Tennessee is filled with a bunch of rednecks and hillbillies! LOL! Georgia has more trailer trash than any state I've been to.

Just to put some perspective on things. Every fan base has their fair share of fans that make you look at them and go WTF? I peruse a lot of sites and this one was saved by another Tide fan to share during the off season when the Barners started cranking it up again. The barner fans are special in their own little twisted way. This was just prior to the start of last season. Enjoy!

Keep this down home, cuz . . . I'm deleting shortly . . . (M) Reply--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's funny as hell . . . CTF and Tubs are on THE biggest fishing expedition that is going to rock the college football world and probably land us at # 5 in the nation Sep. 22nd week.
Planned it all summer, and here we experts are with eyes, but can't see . . . and ears, but can't hear . . .
CTF drilled our passing attack to absolute precision all two-a-days . . . the hay is in the barn (forgive the "Barner" metaphor). CTF could have easily had KB and CT execute 350 yards of passing and push the play totals up to 95. But they wanted to make Dang sure we hadn't gone "soft" like Mr. Crimson and Roofer Tim Watts warned we would, so they decided to unleash our nasty O-line and 3-headed RB corps on LaMo.
CTF told Tubs privately about a KY game in which he and Mumme did this set up deal on a big rival . . . the hardest part is teaching your QB's to actually look "sucky" throwing the ball in an authentic way. You have to be careful that the deliberate misfires aren't obvious.
I know a senior at AU who is a team manager (can't reveal who he is, but he is from Atlanta area), and he told me that KB, CT and CTF have been laughing their .....es off behind the scenes, along with our WR's. They're going to do more of the same - but not quite as sucky - vs. USM once we get up by two TD's. And will look a little bit better vs. MSU, but still lean heavy on the run with a 70/30 ratio.
Hat Miles will take the bait . . . walking safeties up every down to stop the run he expects . . . walking right into an ambush. Don't be surprised when CTF shows up clean-shaven, with an all-orange hat on (worn with correct hat size, not painted on like Lester) vs. the Corn Dogs, which'll scare Miles and his DC shipless (and me). First series, he runs, runs, runs . . . and Miles circles the stink bait. AU stuffs LSU's offense 3 and out. Next series, CTF unleashes the AU version of the Spread. Few here are prepared for what is unleashed . . . and god help the geriatrics (bless their hearts) who sit all-game around me and look at me like I'm a madman when I scream and flail my arms all-game . . . they're administered nitro glycerin at the half. Nothing can prepare you for the lightning tempo, wild array of formations, Mario Fannin in the gun, KB split, TE pass routes you've never seen . . . deep balls hitting JS and CS in stride uncovered.
Gonna be fun to see . . . and if you can get AU + 3 (what I expect) vs. LSU, buy all you can. Stumpfan and RoadRunner are clearly trying to hold that number on the + to game week, too.

The quote provided by Tidefan... Wow. Just wow. Yes, you teach your QB's to deliberately throw poorly, so as to ambush the competition... You sand bag multiple opponents...

If they were really secretly that good, why would they need to sand bag at all?

There is no possible way that was serious. Just can't have been.
