Everybody turning down Auburn just like Tenn three years ago. If we were firing Pruitt now we would also be turned down by most coaches and wind up with someone as much a question mark as Pruitt was.

I’m glad Sark has been able to manage a lot of his previous obstacles. I think being the head guy at Bama would certainly be a pressure cooker unlike anything he experienced in the PAC12. I hope he’d be ok with it.
The Bear could never get away with about 90% of the stuff today that he did and a lot of those old guys did back then.

There is a difference in firing a coach with a winning record and a losing record. The new coach knows that the winning fan base is going to be more difficult to satisfy than a losing fan base.

local radio speculates that the money people who pushed out Malzhan wanted Steele but that didn't sit to well with fans so now they are kinda F'd.

also, apparently there are lots of conditions (who to hire, etc) with the job which is running people off.

lesson - if you are going to make the move up be prepared to give them whatever they want.

It’s interesting that Auburn which is basically the SEC west version of Tennessee; is having the same problems selling their job to coaches as desirable.

Candidate- “Oh, so boosters and AD are not willing to give full control of the program?”

Candidate- “You really have Alabama, LSU, Georgia and A&M every year?”

Candidate- “You really just fired a guy that averaged 9 wins per year?”

Candidate- “Good luck with your search...LOL”

If they snag Freeze I will be completely disheartened with our administration. The state of Tennessee is not on the coaches... it's on the idiots who hired them in the first place. The fans have been trying to get a winner in here since Dooley. We are beyond tired; some of us ain't even watching anymore. Just show us you care by hiring a proven coach.
