He definitely pushes the envelope and, like I said, I don’t think he would knowingly have committed major infractions but I think he looks at minor ones the same way I look at stop signs. They are just suggestions.

I met Bruce in a tailgate tent before the Cal game in 2006... he is just a fun guy who probably commits minor infractions of that nature on a daily basis because "nobody should care about a little party". I love Bruce... just wish he had told the truth about that picture and was still here. He was perfect for Tennessee and this fan base.

I know the feelings on here about Pearl are a bit conflicted between his success versus annoyance at some of his antics and the problems he caused.

The rest of us loath him and are not fans, rest assured. He's fake news.

There is the infraction and then there is the response. The response was absurd on the NCAA and AD’s part.

Once he got a three-year show cause penalty, the AD had no choice. He had to be fired. You can’t sacrifice the program for a coach.

Yes, the violation was minor, but he dug the hole himself. If he had come clean, it would have been a slap on the wrist. But, when he lied, AND THEN ASKED THE RECRUIT AND HIS FAMILY TO LIE, he (not anyone else) screwed the pooch.

I will take Rick Barnes and his class all day long over Bruce Pearl.

We sacrificed the program by firing him and having Cuonzo and being a perennial bubble team .....

False. Mike Hamilton was the most inept AD in the country. Any semi competent AD fight back with the NCAA. Never in my life did I think someone would defend Mike Hamilton.

How are you going to fight back on that? If it was just him lying, it would have been bad. But trying to bring the Crafts into it, too, indefensible. Sorry.

Hamilton was terrible. But he actually did good work on this one getting us out of it with no sanctions.

Auburn really came together late in the season that is what Pearl teams usually do. Really impressed with their defense and it is demoralizing when they keep making those three pointers after getting stops.

When dominos started falling, the admin could have told Bruce what was fixing to happen, they let him go into the meeting with NCAA knowing what was about to go down. If they wanted him to stay all they had to do is tell him, NCAA already knows everything, some boosters decided he shouldn’t be helped for his discretions. I’m happy with Rick Barnes, but Auburn is in the final four.
