You are not as powerful as you thought you were. Yesterday you tried to hire a despicable human being as our new head coach. The response of the Tennessee fan base to this travesty was instant and profound, and in a matter of hours we galvanized the media and even our own politicians against you until you had no choice but to back down. We are a proud fan base, and we proved yesterday we don't just have pride, we have power. Actual, enforceable power that must be respected.

We applaud your decision to undo your grave mistake, even at a financial cost, but you are not off the hook just yet. Our obvious disapproval of a terrible person like Greg Schiano does not mean that we will be just fine with anyone else. If you think you can now saddle us with any run of the mill mid-major coach and still maintain the revenue we generously provide you with, you are sadly mistaken.

If you want to keep making money, you will need to spend money. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Ante up. You will do EVERYTHING you can to bring in THE best possible coach, and it will pay off in the long run. Were you only willing to offer that dream hire 7 million before? Now you will offer him 8 million. Or 9. Or 10. Or whatever it takes. Did he just sign an extension and get a raise? Too bad, that's no longer an excuse. Bite the bullet and pay the buyout money. Is he just not interested in the program? BS, of course he is - he has his price and you just haven't offered enough to make him say yes. Now you will.

And if you say you just can't afford to do it, well...that's a bold faced lie and you certainly aren't fooling anyone. A quick google search of the net worth of some of our most prominent boosters quickly puts that notion to rest. You can afford any coach at any price. We know it, you know it, and in this moment of profound embarrassment we expect you to restore pride to this program by making a statement through your words, your actions, and your wallets. If you do so, your decision to do so will be profitable. If you don't, your decision to do so will lose money. It's that simple.

You are officially on notice. The financial impact of your decision will be immediate, dramatic, and not limited to UT athletics. Now pay up or face the consequences.

Manifesto? Really? We sound as ridiculous as the muzzy SJWs.

Yesterday sucked. We should move on and not be a joke.

As you will see below, Schiano was a bad idea, but let's not be judge and jury. He was apparently un-involved with the Sandusky thing except for one passing comment from someone with no legal engagement.

That said:
1. Currie should have known the media and others would bring the Sandusky thing up.
2. Shiano is not the coach that Tennessee needs and fans expect right now.

Just those simple facts should be apparent to any decent AD.

You're damn right it's a manifesto. This is our program now, and those who consider themselves to be in power would be wise to make decisions that will make us happy.

As a graduate of the University of Tennessee, I am appalled by posters like yourself. I was not pleased by the potential hire, but there were no grounds to even interview Schianno by authorities and he has not been found guilty of any association with Sandusky. These type of comments are what make VolNation look foolish in the eyes of Americans nationwide.

I want to hear a “Fire John Currie” chant on Monday Night Raw tonight

Oh if he's not gone by 5PM, you better believe some fans will start one. I'm also going to bet any bad mouthing of the fans or the team will be strictly off limits tonight for any heel wrestler, there is no way that McMahon would want get in the middle of this pissed off crowd.

Even if you disregard the Penn State allegations, Schiano is still known as an authoritarian jerk who tried to hurt an opposing quarterback during an end-of-game kneel down TWICE and once leaked that his own quarterback was participating in a confidential substance abuse program. Ask Josh Freeman or any of the other Tampa Bay Bucs who revolted against Greg Schiano whether they think he's a man of character.

We just axed a coach who verbally abused players and covered up head injuries; we as a fanbase are NOT OKAY with hiring an even worse human being.

I appreciate your opinions, but I value the opinions of coaches like Bill Belichek and Urban Meyer ahead of you. I didn't want Schiano either, but I sure as heck am not calling him a "despicable human being."

I have been a fan for 60 years! Fans are right! These last few hires have taken a once dominate and prideful TN program to being gutter rats! All because of Negative coaching! We fans know this hire has to be a good one not another big 10 nobody!

I like many others feel a house cleaning is in order right this minute! Bring Fulmer back immediately until a successful hire is made to stabilize our program!!

You officials at the University should be ashamed of yourselves!!

How is the average Fan going to hold Tennessee Administrators Accountable ? They seem entrenched & we are stuck with Butch Jones level coaching...
