Haha, come on Dbake I love LaRoche almost as much as Freeman. Rochy makes 4 to 6 bonehead plays a year. Therein lies the rub. That's the difference. Not his fault. It's the AD, he just mentally lapses from time to time. Smoothest swing in the game tho, and very smooth at first.

Smoothest swing in the game? Really? Adam LaRoche? Really?

I really haven't seen LaRoche fumble many scoops or plays at all in his time with the Natinals. He has been really, really good over there. It's a position that is hard to judge. I don't know how to, really.

Also please point put the instances where you think I'm wrong. Being sarcastic doesn't count either.

Go to the top of you page click "my posts" then scroll down. Those are all instances where you are *wrong.

*excluding any political post you may have as I generally always side with you on those.

Nati idk if you're allowed to heavily question and borderline mock Scotty's post and then act like you know exactly what he meant when somebody explains it.

I do think there is some validity to it being subjective. Darwin Barney won it at 2nd last season. However nobody will ever convince me that he is a better fielder than Brandon Phillips.

What are you talking about? Him saying LaRoche has the best swing in the game would be about as asinine as it gets. I know what he meant by "smooth."

FWIW, Barney saved 28 runs last year compared to Phillips' 11, but Barney had a better UZR. Not knocking on Phillips, he's good. But Barney is pretty damn good too.

I only brought up UZR earlier for you stat head guys. Certainly Phillips not saving as many runs had much to do with the fact that the Reds had one if the top 5 staffs in the game.

not being a dick but i don't think that has an effect. i've never looked into it too too deeply. i'd have to see examples of what counts as what, explained to me in person by the dudes doing it, to realize the differences in some plays. i was a slave to defensive metrics for a good bit and have backed off considerably.

28 to 11 is a pretty big margin.

However, it doesn't matter cause I would take both.

Really? Better pitching staff = less runners on base which = less opportunities to save runs.

I'm hoping they've accounted for that in some ways. But more opportunities probably does affect it. Don't know if that is the lone culprit.
