Probably need to calm down about everybody until they at least play a couple of days in 60 degree weather.
You'll get no argument from me on McLouth. It's pure wishful thinking IMO.I'm more critical of lineup construction the first weekend of the year than I would normally be because there's a new manager to evaluate. Putting McLouth up there gives him a central role in the offense and extra plate appearances. Seems like you'd want to see some success from him first after what happened last year.
Sort of a typical Bobby Cox-style move, though. Put a guy right in the role you hope he can fill and let him sink or swim.
Teheran is starting in AAA. Would be a good September arm to have, if he's not called up earlier.
A career .250 hitter with an obp under .300 isn't a solution to a hole in the top of a lineup. I've seen A-Gon at the top of the order and it isn't pretty.McLouth made it clear that confidence is the problem. Let's lower our expectations and front-load the lineup.
Stick A-Gon in the 2 and move McLouth to the 7 or 8. 1-6, we would be as stacked offensively as any team in the NL.
