At 4-0, can the Vols make 12-0?

What are you talking about? We know this is not our year. Right now he is just spooning us gravy and we are lapping it up.

I could be wrong, but I think it’s going to be more of “our year” than most thought it would be. It’s just some Tennessee fans seem to get on the deep end quick.

Hope you are right. I still have my floater wings on.

So far, I think this team has exceeded the coaches' expectations as well as the fans.

But still lots of roles to be defined from the bench, and grown into on the court. We've also yet to experience playing from behind in the second half, or playing under end-of-game clock pressure.

I only have radio, so I could have missed this: have we run a full or half-court press on anyone yet? Have we played with our small lineup yet? If so, did we look competent, or did we become less productive?

I don't remember seeing much or any of a high pressure, trapping press. But we harass the guy with the ball and try to deflect inbounds passes on nearly every opportunity. But it's probably as much to take time off of their 30 second clock and to slow down opponent's attacks as it is to generate turnovers. More like 94' man-to-man pressure than a traditional full court press.

You have not seem Memphis (Floppin Tigers) play then, even without Wiseman they have a lot of 5 star talent? I don't think they will go 12-0 probably 10-2. We have the advantage is early games because of our experienced senior guards.
I wondered why everyone just seem to completely overlook Memphis. They still have a lot of talent and it’s a bitter rivalry. Anything can happen in that matchup.

As others have said, losses are coming, so we need to prepare and not let the sunshine get too bright. By no means am I saying don't have fun, heck I've been wearing my orange shades since the Washington win and Florida losses, but I'm doing my best to control my worst impulses and prepare for some sloppy play.

This team is still really, really young and inexperienced. There will be some clunkers. And the schedule only gets tougher. FSU, Memphis, and Wisconsin are all better teams than Washington (at least in my eyes). The most important game is the next game. Beat UTC and then beat FSU and we'll move from there.

I don't know that we will be 12-0 before league play, but it is certainly possible. FSU and Cincy on the road will pose the toughest challenges IMO with Wisconsin coming in right behind them. Looking forward to seeing how far this team can go.

Anything can happen, but we should take care of business at home.

Will Vols be undefeated through the end of 2019? If so then we beat FSU and Memphis! Go Vols!

I think tonight will answer that question. FSU is long and athletic. Gonna be a tough game to win. Definitely can't shoot 30% from the field and 20% from 3 and expect to come out on top like we did the other night.

How accurate. Unfortunately.

As I mentioned in another thread,,, I appreciate the good start and I know how fortunate we are to have Barnes as our coach,,, I also know we have some stark weaknesses under the goal that so far have not been exploited. If we are going to go very far this season we will have to have extraordinary play by our guards.

The problem with depending on perimeter points as your bread and butter is the certainty that there will be games where the outside shot just will not fall and unless there is a dedicated go to in and around the basket that can be depended on the the points simply will not be there.

As I said. We were exposed.

One of those nights you could just see coming. We actually played well enough on D to win. FSU caused a lot problems with their D, but we also had way too many unforced turnovers too. We just dont have the horse power on offense this year, and can't afford to shoot the ball poorly from the field and beat good teams. 21 turnovers to 5 assists shows you too just how poorly we played.
