'26 ASU Transfer QB Sam Leavitt (LSU)

Another kid leaving campus without it being locked up. Hopefully they know something or kid is just delusional on asking price

We heard much the same about Nico's game and arm. Nattys and Heismans were gonna roll into Knoxville once he took the field.
Have you seen anything from Faizon Brandon or his family that seems similar to Nico?

And Nico was our first 5 star QB recruit in 20 years. Hard not to be excited about him.

So the options are this.

Expericed QB ready to start now, a no experience talented backup who goes into 27 as the guy, and a warm body

OR

A guy physically not ready who's thrown 9 passes who may tranfer next year, a no experience backup who may transfer next year if he loses the job, and a transfer who may or may not be talented enough to win the job.

I'll go option A because the only guarantee here is in 2 years either George or Faizon will be gone. I'm going to take the guy who gives me the best chance to win now.
I was just addressing the notion of "who cares" if GMac transfers, and how it affects our immediate roster.

We currently only have two QBs. If we land Leavitt (for example) and GMac then enters the portal immediately after, we still only have two QBs.

Of your listed options, I go Option A, as well.

Mac is not beating anyone out with the lack of weight he has put on. Cosches are very disappointed or they would not even be in the portal. No way he ever beats out Brandon.
How do you know how much weight he has out on? Heupel HAS to get a QB in the portal and it’s got nothing to do with GMac. Nobody knows if he would beat out Brandon and that includes you.

Sorry, my phone glitched and it sent it twice

We've engaged in a bit of banter before. This time I would like to know your opinion rather than challenge a statement

Do you think Joey could / would have a better second season in this system? He got here in spring.

Also, worst case scenario we strike out on a bunch of quarterbacks. Would you rather start Joey, GMAC, or someone way down the list of quarterbacks?
Joeys only down side imo is the occasional inaccurate throw (happens to everyone) and a tendency to every once in a while loft the ball to the middle of the field for no reason where it conveniently ends up right in the bread basket of a safety. He stops doing that and he could have one of the most successful seasons ever by a Tennessee QB.

His tumor may have had something to do with some throws
