Ask me your questions about WVU...

Did he do different before? I don't take him as that kind of guy. Saban isn't.

No. That was the point I was making with Pruitt. He is not going to be overly impressed by anyone we have. He seems like the type that is would always be driving for improvement, anyway. That he surely learned from Saban. One thing for sure, there will be no "primadonna" complexes in CJP's locker room. I just dont see him showing any favoritism that way.

WV fans talking to us like we are Prairie View A&M or something...LOL

They are in for an epic awakening..

Imagine how bad it's gonna be face to face next weekend! Actually glad I taking my kids to keep me in check!
My WVU buddy going said he was glad I was going to bail him out of all the fights he's gonna start!! Lmao

What a dumb response.

Sills was playing qb a couple years ago. He led the nation in tds, was a biletnikoff finalist and is a 1st team all American.
Had 7 TD's in 8 games vs FBS teams with a winning record and was shut out by Utah... UTAH a VERY middling Pac12 team who had two wins over FBS teams that finished with a winning record. WVU at 7-6 and UCLA at 7-6.

Against the 4 awful losers you played that combined for a total of 11 wins... he had 11 TD's. Your schedule was front loaded with bad teams. Sills jumped out with a bunch of TD catches and no one went back to check their homework when they started heaping praise on him.

Jennings had 97 catches and 1,100 yards last year.
Both of these guys are good WR's. They play their role in a up tempo passing O. The system with a good trigger man is a cause for concern. These guys as individual talents... aren't for a team that faced BOTH NC game contenders last year.

Between Jones being a really bad coach and having the majority of the experienced highly talented guys hurt or otherwise not playing is why last year happened. Not necessarily because the ratings were off that much for an entire class.

There are a slew of examples that prove this wrong. Did saban go 13-1 in year 2 because of talented freshman alone? Maybe he had some talent on his team that he developed from the prior regime? Pearl turned a losing bball squad into a no.2 seed in year 1. Talent is important but has to be cultivated mentally and physically. Butch Jones doesnt know how to put his own pants on, how could he guide and develop a football team? Without Dobbs bailing him out he was exposed and our guys were undersized, under prepared, and under motivated.

...but you guys put way too much stock in high school recruiting rankings and other things that just dont matter.
Except of course when applied to two grad transfer DL's to WVU who couldn't break the two deep at their previous school or an incoming 4* Fr DL who has yet to play a down of college football, right?

Those rankings are not absolute predicters for individual players. But they ARE a good indicator of roster talent when taken "generally". To say they don't matter is effectively to deny statistical reality. We used to have a guy around here that ran those numbers. He demonstrated that the average player ratings was a 70% predictor for the winning team. Almost every team he studied finished where their recruit ranking average said they would. Very, very rarely does a team finish more than plus or minus two from what their "talent" average says they will.

You guys love bringing up games without grier in a season where we didnt have a backup qb worth a damn.

Forget the fact we played against utah without our qb and a handful of other starters. Why do you act like utah is terrible? They've had much more success than tennessee the last 10-15 years. Its not even close really.

By the way. Those 2 games against nc contenders last year... you lost by a combined 79 points.

You lost to vanderbilt by 3 tds. You lost to mizzou by 33.

You didn't win a single conference game last year.

Do you even hear yourself when you speak/type? :D

Regardless, UT will be 1-0 come Sep 2. What will your excuses be then?

Right. You have a system and a QB who can run it. Without him... these supposedly unstoppable WR's did very little.

UT has been at one of the lowest ebbs in the history of the program.... and Utah is still at best a middling Pac12 team. The two really have nothing to do with each other.... nor do their rosters.
By the way. Those 2 games against nc contenders last year... you lost by a combined 79 points.
And... you were spanked regardless of the QB by a team beaten by one of them.

You lost to vanderbilt by 3 tds. You lost to mizzou by 33.
So precisely how does that relate to my rebuttal of your claims that you have the best receivers in college football? It doesn't.

The ONLY thing we can say is that UT has talent that has been poorly coached and developed. We don't know what Pruitt has or can do with it.

BUT... we can also look at your roster and your team and YOUR performance last year and judge those things apart from anything UT did last year.

WVU may beat UT. UT's players may have just defied all statistical probability and be a whole team of busts. Pruitt may not be HC material... some UGA guys have said exactly that. But that doesn't make your claim of 10 future NFL players on the current WVU roster any more impressive. We see better talent than that often.

You didn't win a single conference game last year.
Yeah. Thanks for the unneeded reminder... but that still doesn't make your team any better than it is.

Do you even hear yourself when you speak/type? :D
Do you? All you've done is deflect. You claim your receivers are great. I respond to that claim. You change the subject to the universally admitted failures of UT last year. Well.... maybe you don't hear yourself, huh?
