Ask me your questions about WVU...

I asked this in another thread, but wanted your take on it as well..

How well does your coaching staff make adjustments during the game? Good or bad?

Our last staff was horrible at in game adjustments.

This new staff, even though they haven't coached a game yet, will hopefully be better. Pruitt basically shut down Georgia after halftime in last year's National Championship game.

Hopefully they can continue that.

I will say regarding the West Virginia to SEC. Hasnt it been said the SEC didnt want because of the academics not being on par?

You know, maybe the smartest thing for everyone concerned would be for the SEC and B12 to simply swap. We get the Mountaineers, and they can have Mizzou. Everyone fits better, everyone's happier, and we don't even have to juggle around the divisions of the SEC. It just fits.
Except Mizzou wanted out of Big 12 because of the Texas longhorn network. Same as everyone else wanting out like Nebraska did. Kansas was ticked at Mizzou leaving and several others because they almost lost their conference to complete breakup. All the University Presidents would probably blackball Missouri from entering Big12 again as long as this generation is alive and has voting and veto powers.

As a West Virginia fan, I really need this guy to come back on and tell me why he thinks our 3 star 4th string Freshman RB could be better than Steve Slaton. Why our deep threat and bama transfer who hasn't played a down for us yet are better than our All American WR. Why he thinks Darius Stills was a Blue Chip Recruit. Why he thinks Grier rarely makes bad throws or bad reads. Why he thinks our roster is so good that we may never have a roster this good again. Why he thinks Kenny Bigelow is an NFL talent.

I'm honestly flabbergasted by all of these opinions.

Maybe we've been had, for a 1/2 day. Oh well.

Good and valid points.

Ah well, it woulda been good from our end, anyway.

Better viewpoint - un-explored fuel source. Huge amount of potential and economic opportunity, considering that the US is the 'Saudi Arabia' of coal. I am a UT person, but I have evaluated with several biofuels adventures and most are absolute bad ideas

What about natural gas, Marcellus and Utica Shale?

Fortunately WVU is one of the most profitable programs in the country. The Mountaineers are third in the Big 12 in terms of revenue and were $75M in the black the past two seasons. So if Dana isn't the guy there's plenty of cash on hand to show him the door and usher in the next regime.

You can probably get Butch for 40K.

I don't think money is going to be your all's biggest problem. Rather, it's that it's tough to recruit to West Virginia, particularly when you're in a conference that is a very poor geographic match. You all really need to take full advantage of recruiting PA, MD, VA, OH, and NC, but tough to do that in the Big 12. I think you all would do much better in the ACC or Big 10. In the Big 12, you're a weird geographic outlier.

Will Dana be wearing a skirt or pant suit on the sidelines? Is she allowed in the locker room while the players are dressing?

Bottom line: UT has recruited way above UWV over the past few years (and forever). UWV has done well with retaining and transferring in (poaching) talent to save Holgorsen's job. Question is, can the pieced together UWV experienced team beat the thoroughbred, but inexperienced, UT team?

I will answer as honestly as I can.
My credentials... former lay journalist, issued press credentials by WVU. Friend of the program. Mostly realistic. Ask away...

This is one of the many reasons journalist are not trusted.

“Friend of the program”
“Mostly realistic”=opinion and not journalism (biased)

Can you explain why this guy is such a douche?

Easy, he's a disciple of James Franklin who started this idea while at Vanderbilt. And like or hate him, we all agree Franklin is a good coach. [Listening for that mighty roar of indignation]

So I’m just curious... I asked this in another thread also. I have seen the posts and articles by WVU fans and sports writers that they believe they are a possible contender for a spot in the playoffs due to their “best receiving corps in the country.” I’ve seen all the hype about Grier and how this is the best WV team ever. How does a WVU fan see it playing out if they get a playoff spot against Clemson or Georgia? How does a WVU fan think the “nations top receiving corps” would fare in a BCS championship game against Bama?
