Behr, do you make tortilla soup? I make a very good one and change it up a little each time. If you make it, is there any out of the ordinary thing you might add to it? I use probably most normal items. I don't use any type of stock other than what I've made myself when boiling the chicken. I'll use two to three different type of beans, cornstarch, tomatoes, sometimes corn/sometimes hominy, cummin, fresh garlic, green chilies, cilantro, lime juice, pinch or so sugar, green onions, sometimes a little enchilada sauce, a little Nopales Cactus, etc.

Just kidding. Your recipe sounds perfect, if it were me, I'd add some fresh avocado, cukes and a tad of carrots (they will draw any unwanted salt out) and won't add much to the flavor.

Otherwise...no. You are right on. IMO

Fresh avocado in it as it cooks? If so, sliced, diced, mushed? I have used carrots in it sometimes. Also, diced potato. Usually a half a handful of each. Just enough so you know it's there.

Cukes-Half a cuke sliced or?

Both as a garnish, along with some cracked pepper and a sprinkle of Himalayan Pink Salt.

You know I always use the pink stuff. It's pretty good. I assumed you meant as a garnish, but wasn't sure. I'll do that next week. Have a good friend coming in for a few days from Montana and will be making again.
 
I use it also, but what I suggested will work just as well!

Fresh Avocado, fresh tomato and cucumber makes a great garnish, as well as sliced green onion and Fresh Parmesan cheese.

That's what I'm looking for. Never would have thought about the Parmesan cheese for it.
