Rosemary and olive oil Triscuits with havarti cheese and maybe summer sausage for the win.

This might be the foundation of our romance, along with being perfectly happy to watch the Warriors (me) and being perfectly happy to put the toilet seat back down, always (him).

Ideally the Triscuits are eaten on a rock outcropping at Pacific Grove, watching the breakers roll in, maybe with some Granny Smith apple slices and grapes on the side. Add in a 10-knot wind and the sounds of seagulls and seals, surrounded by ice daisies. Pinot Grigio optional but highly recommended.

I like those triscuits too. I think I tried them all and like the Fire roasted mater the best.

I used to like a nice Pinot Grigio as well, hmmm, guess I still do just don't partake.

I sure am glad you're a female. This would've been awkward.

:)
Lol

It's astonishing how much simpler love is once you're past the reproductive years.

I'd never, ever encourage anyone to break up, but if you find yourself suddenly alone in your middle or upper years, don't write off future happiness. Do some serious navel-gazing, honestly admit how you might have contributed to the failure of your marriage, figure out how to behave more responsibly and honorably in the future, and realize that you're just as worthy of love as anyone else merging onto the freeway on the way to work every morning.

There are some happy surprises out there.

Namaste, y'all.

The lighting makes the onions and cabbage look a little more yellow than they actually are, but very little. It's the exact color I was hoping for!

Forget what I said about "the only things Im doing different next time". I did several things differently.

I decided that some of you might not have a farmers market conveniently located and buy the ingredients at a supermarket. So I bought new stuff from Walmart, Publix and Target. Target because they had an ingredient for something else that the others didn't stock. Publix was the only one of the three that had green tomatoes.

Total cost of ingredients used $9.84 tax included. It made exactly 3 pints. $3.28 each.

Last time I used mustard seed, turmeric and celery seed that I already had. All were still good according to the use by date, but I tasted all 3 and felt they didn't have the full flavor they should so I bought new ones. Major difference in the mustard seed and turmeric. All three were McCormick. Also bought a new bottle of crushed red pepper, McCormick too.

I used Hienz distilled white vinegar.

Some things worth noting.

Before you start cutting and chopping, remove the stickers on the tomatoes and peppers. MF'er.

I was very attentive when measuring, most know how much I hate it, but I wanted to be able to give exacts. I used a marked measuring cup. I packed the veggies pretty tight and leveled it.

I cut the white membrane from the peppers and removed all seeds.

I used 1 large green bell, 1/2 red bell, 1/2 orange bell, 1 onion, 1/2 head cabbage, 2 green tomatoes and 1 16 oz bottle of vinegar. (Just for your purchasing knowledge)

Something to always remember. A sharp knife is always important, but especially cutting bell peppers. I like to cut them "skin" side up, but if your knife isn't really sharp, it's better to cut it inside up. Jmo.

I used as much of the juice from the tomatoes as I could scoop up with my knife.

I'm not familiar with the whole canning process so I don't know if this was best or not. After cooking and cooling, I drained it in a colander over mixing bowl. I filled the jars with the chow chow then filled them with the juice. It probably makes zero difference, but it seemed easier than how I did it last time. Typing that was probably a waste of time, but oh well.

I really hope somebody, everybody tries this. I don't think it could be any better!!! I'll post the recipe shortly. I think it's perfect with exception of the heat. I was afraid it wouldn't be hot enough so I went with what I knew would be too hot and just deal with it and bring it down next time. I like it just the way it is but, it's hot. When I Post the recipe Ill make a note.

Something else, FYI.

For cutting and chopping the veggies I highly recommend AC/DC Highway to hell CD. I skipped the title track and cranked it up. I paused during Touch too much and Walk all over you to play air guitar. Danced, if that's what you wanna call it, during Beatin around the bush.

For the mixing and cooking, I fast forwarded thru overture and straight to The Temples of Syrinx from Rush 2112. Again, Loud. Lawdz, you don't want to hear me sing, but especially trying to sing to Rush. Lofl.
