Hey Comp,

Do you have Publix near you? If so, next time you're there, check in the Seafood dept. and see if they have any fresh Sockeye Salmon. I bought some yesterday here and they said they would have it at most stores in other states for about two weeks. It was $10.99 lb. which is not bad. Compare it to the Coho.

HEB is probably the largest grocery store chain in Texas. Not bad, but really big. Took me an hour to find some chutney for my turkey salad recipe.

I grocery shop at the Mad Butcher. Several years ago they had one of those flashing signs that said "nobody beats our meat". I figured anybody bold enough to have a sign like that deserved my business, havent shopped anywhere else since.

What's left of the Albertson's here are just nasty (not clean) and less quality fresh products.

I prefer Sweetbay here, but Publix is right across the street.

Make your on chutney, hell, you can stir the fawk out of it.

Lulz. Oh, I forgot - the other grocery store we have is La Mercado...unfortunately, I don't speak the language.

I posted a pic here somewhere of a marque sign on the restaurant I ran down on the beach, the one Slice had been to. I put "Best Steaks on the Beach, You can't beat our meat". I only left it up long enough to get a picture of it.

Never heard of it, but just binged it. Sounds cool, you should try it. Bet they have plenty of people there that speak whatever crap language you speak.

this one didnt stay up very long, I figure they got alot of complaints by the old people in town. We only have 2 grocery stores, the other is a Harvest Foods that used to be Kroger.

I go there if I need a particular pepper - they have the freshest. It's now Hatch Green Pepper season - they are selling fresh roasted ones all over town. How do you save them for use later?...or do you need to use them immediately.

They should last a week or so before they start turning brown in the fridge. Wrap them in a damp paper towel. Or just freeze them. I don't like to freeze any fresh produce, but it works and it's better than throwing them away. Don't freeze them whole, cut them in slices or at least in half.

I fixed her post, thought she noticed.

Whataburger was my favorite years ago. I haven't seen one in maybe 30 years.
