Article: Why the Cleveland Browns are a perfect fit for Josh Dobbs

I think Kirk Cousins is about to hit the market as well. I always thought he would make a good Brown. If we could get Cousins on the roster, have Kessler sitting behind him and Trubisky prepping to take over after a few seasons... that wouldn't be such a bad thing. Then fill the lines with the draft.

If they sign Cousins, they aren't taking a QB in the draft (unless it's a late round depth pick).

hhmmmm....I'm feeling pretty confident they want this Trubisky kid. I feel for Kessler because he turned out to be one tough SOB. he's a good QB but he's going to get caught in the middle of this. He won't remember his own name by the time his time with the Browns is over.

Wow... the Browns are also signing center JC Tretter from the Packers. Tretter has been in the league for 4 years, and in 3 of those years he spent at least half the season on either the IR or PUP list.

SMH, The contract I'm getting for Britt is 4 years/somewhere around 32 mill. Jesus. So, what happens when RG#, Britt, and Tretter are all sitting on the sidelines eating salary and we got nothing but rookies on the field getting concussions?

Didn't Cleveland win a bunch of NFL championships with Jim Brown? Plus they were pretty good in the mid 80s when John Elway was beating them in the playoffs.

So I'll have to disagree with you that Cleveland has always been a terrible franchise. They've just been really sad since 1999.

The old Cleveland Browns. The current Browns were an expansion team

I'm hearing trickle down that the Browns are still at the table with Pryor. If they can keep Pryor then we are looking about 1000% better. Maybe I'm panicking too early.

What's even worse is that the Browns are quick to announce EVERYTHING via social media, but not this one. They are keeping this as low key as possible. I think we may have just lost Pryor and they were caught with their pants down adn with no receiver.

did we just trade Pryor for Britt?

:thud:
No youre losing Pryor to a rising franchise....Titan Up Butches

No need to panic good sir. The Browns sucked last year and will suck this year. It should come as no suprise.

When they came back from Baltimore as an expansion team because of public outcry they were basically a brand new team.

As stated in this thread already. Haslam
Had clue what he was doing when he bought in but he wants to win and he is willing to spend money. He is probably the most competitive testosteroned individual I've ever seen and I am not betting against him getting it right.

Edit: I can't keep up on my phone right now... let me know if I miss anything interesting. I'll be checking in.

Omg... on the cowherd show just now they are playing a game where they name the deal and have to guess the team.

After the Kenny Britt deal the radio guy (cow herds off) said "that has to be a bottom of the league God awful team to do that".

Spending money does not equal success, take a look at our federal government. Im not the head of an nfl team, but im smart enough to know that giving Kenny Britt a big contract is not a good idea, but hey, they spent money.

You get to be the Cleveland Browns some more.

OMG the Browns just traded for Brock Osweiler.

The Texans basically said "we will give you a free second round pick if you will take Osweiler."

Holy crap.

Doubled's,

I know you and I have our differences, but I cannot help but feel for you after today.

Back on to the actual subject of this thread:

I actually could see the Browns taking Dobbs. After trading for Osweiler, they certainly aren't going to take a QB before the 4th round at the earliest, and they'll need a backup plan to mitigate Osweiler's general suck, so Dobbs may well be on their radar.
