Art Briles reportedly fired

Very true, and their administration is too dumb to see it.

Sad day for Baylor fans, players, and for Briles. Sucks to get fired for something a few of his players did. When you have way too many lawyers looking for someone to sue, this is the result.

I wonder if Derek Dooley will put in for the job? The internet would never be the same.

They're not too dumb to see it, they just couldn't possibly have kept him in this situation.

OK, it is one level of stupid to fire a successful coach like Briles. If they end up naming Bennett as the new coach, Baylor fans might as well go buy gear for the Aggies, Horned Frogs, or Longhorns.

I can see that stack of transfer applications in Waco getting shorter real quick.

Has any Tennessee player been convicted?

Has any accused player at Tennessee not been suspended from the team until the charges lead to a reasonable legal outcome?

As far as I am concerned, these so called national pundits can rot in hell.

I totally agree.

It is this ^ kind of mindset that motivated coaches and administrators to ignore or cover up accusations of sexual assault. Your thought process is totally twisted.

Yes, they could have unless there is actual hard evidence he was involved in a cover up. And that is beyond accusations and innuendos from activists who think they are Sherlock Holmes.

Firing Briles, as I see it, is a PR move, nothing more. And if you give a mouse a cookie, it's gonna want a glass of milk.

I'm going to suggest that you read the report that the law firm Baylor hired submitted to the school.

How many times are you going to start this thread?

Sorry did the original from my phone and I did not see it posted. So I reposted because it's huge news and a very relevant topic en-light of UT's recent sexual violation scandals.

Thoughts?

:eek:k:

The most interesting part of this is that Baylor is being roasted by a report that they paid for. I'm worried the lesson being sent is to deny, deny, deny (a la UT).

Is it hard evidence, or more innuendos?

Because I am sick of people going down for the latter.

The summary that is publicly available doesn't include names. Being a private school, Baylor doesn't have to release the entire thing to the public.

However, it makes no bones about individuals within the football program circumventing the investigation process and having inappropriate dealings with accusers.

We will likely never see "the hard evidence" because Baylor isn't required to release it. So if you want to use that fact to stick your head in the sand, then feel free to delude yourself to your heart's content.

So you are going to promote from within staff someone who met with victims and impeded the process? Every single ember of that staff must go. Now.

I know that is either a typo or autocorrect, but you must admit: considering the conflagration of the Bayor Athletic Department, your comment is spot on:).

I read some of it. Pretty clear there was no chance of retaining Briles. To sympathize with him is beyond my understanding.

You know somethings are just little more important than football games and coaches. This is college football. Students First, football is not even close!

After all of this that has happened today, the blood lust to bring down Butch is gaining steam on Twitter. I'm considering the source, but there are a few national pundits bringing Butch up as well. They aren't the same, but perception can stronger be than reality.

If how Coach Jones has handled the situations at Tennessee is in question - then God help every coach across the U.S. - every player was suspended from team activities until the issue was resolved.

And God help the U.S.A. because we are turning into a society where it is "guilty with punishment when accused" until one proves their innocence.

That is not meant to be a reflection on the situation at Baylor because there was obviously something very wrong there.
