That’s the nature of a fan board though. A lot of posts about 5 minutes into any football game where we aren’t already winning or any basketball game where we aren’t up 10 makes it look like the world is ending.I do love visiting threads like this. It shows how quick we are to judge and let our emotions get the best of us.

Agreed. We all say stupid things from time to time, some more than others. I try to stay positive in general as things are rarely as bad as they seem but have no issue with calling out concerns. I draw the line at insulting the kids though. Criticizing their play is fine but not personal attacks like I’ve seen on here from time to time.I swear; go look at the SC, UK, Mizzou, and probably even yesterday's game threads. You'll see people declaring we were definitely going to lose the first time we get down or turn the ball over. And while sometimes it is by drive bys and people you don't really see much, it's also from people who are talking big after the game about how awesome we are now.
That's why I pointed out the person that bumped this and was laughing also was saying we'd end up 2-10 and Pruitt would be fired; now that guy is singing his praises. But at the same time I know almost everyone here has probably made posts like that, including myself (and I know for 100% fact I have). So while it's funny to bump these and laugh, people need to be careful pointing that finger.
Yikes, T.N. I hope you didn't put too much thought into this breakdown.
Now here you go injecting a bit of honesty into a thread, I never called for JPs dismissal but I did think he should be held accountable for some ugly losses. I think coach JP agreesAnd at this point, this old post (along with many of my own) seems silly. Though at the time, I felt pretty much the same way.
I've asked others many times and never got a clear answer, that I remember. Now here you go injecting a bit of honesty into a thread, I never called for JPs dismissal but I did think he should be held accountable for some ugly losses. I think coach JP agrees
So far, this coaching staff and program is a disaster. The recruiting class this week was great, great news and a great showing. But we have S'd the bed on the field again and again. Butch Jones was a terrible game coach and leader. But he didn't leave CJP such an empty roster that CJP could not beat the Kentucky's and USCs (and Georgia State and BYUs)
I think it's too early to decide one way or the other about this coaching staff or program. 12-12 overall, 7-9 in SEC games in 2 years will do that.
I agree with you. I think next year tells us everything we need to know. I think it's a three-step process. CJP has checked the first step by getting a top-ten class, the next step is beating everyone we should normally beat (UK, USC, Mizzou, Arkansas) and one of the four people think we shouldn't (OU, UF, GA, AL). The last step is getting another top-ten class. Those aren't unreasonable expectations for year three.
The issue with this original thread was not that the post was wrong at the time. The issue is that the post was comparing us to Arkansas. We are not a program that uses Arkansas as a parallel. There are too many posters (and fans in general) who use inferior programs as a gauge for tennessee. There is nothing wrong with holding administration/coaching/players accountable for results. We were 5-3 in the SEC this year.
We beat two top 25 ranked teams last year.
We finished the season on a 5 game win-streak and closed with the 15 ranked class in the country and aren't done yet.
Try focusing on more current situations.
I am focusing on a current situation. We beat nothing of significance this year. We lost embarrassingly to two teams. That is our current situation.
How does going 5-3 in conference equate to insignificance?? Ask UGA how insignificant South Carolina is. It's hard to win in this conference. And we beat 5 of them this year.
Our current situation is that we have one of the most improved teams "RIGHT NOW".
Ask Georgia how beating Florida feels like. Ask Georgia how it is to make it to the SEC championship game. Ask Georgia how it is to get a top-five recruiting class. Ask Georgia how it is to lose to Georgia State. Dumb post
Your post is stupid and if it has to be explained why...again, its not just the post.Ask Georgia how beating Florida feels like. Ask Georgia how it is to make it to the SEC championship game.
