Arkansas is improved. Why aren't we?

They are 2-3 and just lost against the other worse team in the SEC West, they barely beat Portland State, and lost to San Jose St. how are they improved again?

We just missed in the coach. Really really badly missed. Ole phil came swooping I’m at the 11th hour and made maybe the worst hire in Tennessee football history. Why on earth he was ever put in that position I have no idea. So damn craze. It could be a 30 for 30 one day

What facts? That GSU had only been around for ten years? Or that San Jose State actually has a history in CFB?

They were in the past ten years been in the top 25 at one point, in their history they’ve as a program have won 16 conference titles and sent 134 players to the NFL.

So please tell me what exactly has GSU done that would put them above San Jose State?

Spoiler alert........Nothing, they’ve done nothing.

First year coach at a new school. The team isn’t full of “his guys” and he’s got a TF QB leading this team to wins. Yet they’re undefeated at the moment.

UNC is a well coached team, and I’m gonna bet they’ not nearly as talented as whole as UT is. Yet here they are hanging with Clemson and Pruitt can’t get this team to hang with Georgia State.

I guess I am not understanding your post. Who is undefeated at this moment? UNC lost to Wake Forest and Appy St and now to Clemson. Yes, they played well today, but still lost. They are 2-3 on the season.

UNC also almost upset #1 Clemson.

But everyone keeps saying we can't win because it's a talent issue.

Umm this is their coaches 2nd year and he still hasn’t won an SEC game. Pruitt has won 2 and both of those were against ranked opponents. If there’s one SEC team we have it better than, it’s Arkansas.

UNC handed a far more deep and talented roster over to an exceptionally experienced HC, the honorable Mac Brown, who's won a natty and a bunch of SWC championships. They lucked into a fluke last-second passing faux pas in their win over a pretty lousy USCjr bunch (1-3, same as UT). They managed to slip by a terrible Miami team (not as good as BYU) and lost to a less talented Wake Forest bunch and last week a deliriously less talented Appy State. Yet...they finally put some pieces together, thanks in great part due to a future NFLer qb, and gave Clemmy all they could handle. Do I sit around and, like you, wonder how nice it would be for our Vols to be like THEM? Me? I envision such a fight brought on by that bunch of tarheels as hope for our youngsters...in very the near future. Decent qb-ing could've easily had us at 3-1 and not, like the game chickens, at 1-3.

I invite you to scroll upward and re-read Vol_Lyfe's post. He's right on. Whether or not all the crybabies on this site keep on whining all season long, these young men...minus the now-exiting bunch of clueless Butchites...are going to push onward, putting the pieces together and maneuvering themselves onto all the same pages, until we'll, first, see them put on a fight similar to the one NC put on against Clemmy. Then, they'll pull off a win over a top tier SEC team (like Auburn last year), they'll finally make a bowl game (yep. in 2020), and very possibly they'll find themselves in the same conversation they were in during the late 90's.
Patience? This coaching staff and most of the players have that in boatloads. All those who're whining that UT football's existential apocalypse is upon us? Well. It's just inside your heads. As long as these men...young and older...keep working and learning and believing and holding their heads up...I'm behind 'em 110%, and I'm not alone. GBO!

San Jose State would beat Ga State by 30. In a head to head game Morris would bust Pruitt’s ass. If you think we’re a better team than Arkansas then it must be the bye week talking to make you forget what you’ve watched the last 4 weeks.
