Coach DVH is a class act. I bet he had words with Root behind closed doors. His teammates grabbed him to shut him down as well. Since TN does their antics, I have no issue when others do similar to us. I love passion in the college game. Sometimes it bubbles over the top. I take the good with the bad. Let the kids play as they used to say in MLB. Personality in sports makes it more fun and entertaining IMHO.
Its the "holier than though" ******** we have to put up with that really drives me nuts. Plenty of players have antics, but we seem to be the lightning rod for criticism when any one of our guys sneezes. Tony gets thrown out of one game two years ago and its "Tony is a punk, detrimental to the game, get him out of the sport, etc." word for word from other fanbases. Then we go and lose in Fayetteville after Root beats his chest and 0 people care.

My philosophy is don’t give what you can’t take.

I think Corbin tries to have his guys act like robots to avoid getting the opponent and their fans fired up.

Each team every year has a different identity. Tony understands this concept and has commented on it. The masterful thing TV does each year is let the team form around their identity. Some years it’s more brash than others but you can tell the team plays loose and is comfortable out there.

Other coaches, like Corbin, mold the team to what they desire and it makes for a robotic appearance.

I personally think TV has this figured out and knows what players will thrive in his program.

Seems we are doing the "woe is me" Hogs bit as if they gave away that game. I'd remind us LSU committed 3 errors (prob a couple more could have been) and really helped Hogs score runs. I try not to get in the "nana nana boo boo" discourse when it comes to sports...BUT...Every single Arkansas fan I know seems so insecure and spends all their conversation about sports trying to convince you they are the best thing that has happened to the SEC. If so...HOW ABOUT WINNING A NC IN BASEBALL! I think Hogs are 0-5 against LSU in the CWS....AND...some seem to assume the Hogs would win today against LSU. Arkansas winning out of the losers bracket...AGAINST LSU...was a slim chance anyways.

Obviously didn't watch any postgame stuff.

Did the coach or kid say why they didn't just take the easy 6-4-3 double play to end the game? Unless I'm missing some basic strategy, that seemed to be the one glaring mental mistake.

I don't really care about what Arkansas did or didn't do enough to keep up with it. I saw some highlights and definitely sneered at some costly errors, but I was too busy watching the Braves finally come alive to care. I am glad they are on the way home without a trophy.

For Arkansas, this was absolutely the cruelest way to suffer a loss. I think their whole team got their due justice in light of the Super Regional game where Root acted as ugly and disrespectful as a player possibly could. I hope these incidents begin to shift the axis a bit on respect for the game and for your opponents. It’s gotten so nasty.
It was enjoyable to watch the best fielding team lose that way 😂

Not sure if the coach did, but the social media post from the post game press conf I saw, Eloy didn't even go out for questions.

His nameplate sat in front of an empty chair...speaks volumes about character to me.

I loathe Arkansas baseball almost as much as Vandy. But I don't think we can make a lot of judgments about his character based off of that. Although part of me is like, Chris Webber had to go out there and answer a bunch of stupid questions from media clowns about calling a timeout, so if he can do that, then guys like Aloy should have to as well. But maybe in the direct aftermath of critical mistakes in huge moments we shouldn't be demanding that guys in their late teens or early 20's go in front of a room full of media so they can relive their worst nightmares.

Brain freeze I guess.

Starting at age 7, as an infielder, we were thought to think...if ball is hit to me, where am I going with it.

That one was quite a puzzle. If a slow roller, I could see it. But that was a tailor-made double play ball.

Perhaps a Hawaiian thing.

Aloy may still think he made the right play at the time. That is my curiosity.

It is a subtle little thing. My wife is always quizzing me when the announcers say "that lead runners doesn't matter" in a 5-3 type score game.

Webber did own it as best he could. Just happens to the best of us sometimes. He was in there fighting until the end.

It's not a big jump to imagine certain posters on VN to parallel Arky fan board posts complaining about thier team.

Coach DVH said he hadn’t talked to Aloy about it but assumed that maybe Aloy thought the ball was hit too far to his right so he made the safe play.

Van Horn and Arkansas fans have been at the forefront of the “Tennessee and Vitello are classless” crowd. It started back in 2021 and it was because of nothing more than anything other teams do. Bat flips and celebrations. It’s been completely manufactured and it started with a Van Horn.

So yeah, I hope they never win a Natty. Plus, in their heart of hearts, they wish they had Vitello. They’ve all but admitted it. And it’s going to be funny when he rejects them after Van Horn retires.
"all but admitted it"??? Hell, from here I can tell you that three fourths of the piggies would put Van Horn on an ice floe if they could get Tony. They don't make any bones about it.

Arkansas and LSU both suck. I’m wish they both would have lost. Their fan bases are both mental cases and think their baseball teams are legendary. Go Coastal.
LSU at least has a right to be arrogant mental nut cases (they have 7 trophies to back it up); Arkansas fans are just delusional freaks
