Can’t agree with this either. I know of players over the years who had to try special order cleats because their almost permanently swollen toe joint couldn’t fit back in their cleats. Imo, coming back 100% after acl is not as big of a challenge as 100% after turf toe. That toe joint takes a beating and you don’t appreciate it till it doesn’t work anymore and can’t bend it to walk. It’s hard to get that range of motion back and play at a high level without it recurring.If he doesn’t play it’s because someone is better than him, not due to the injury.
