For sealing our loss.

Penn State played mistake-free football. My hat's off to them.

Its not his fault he should not have had the ball in his hands at that time anyway, everybody that watches him can tell that he is about to fumble every time by the way he holds the football out there, you have got to cove that thing up, how stupid, do our coaches not teach that kind of stuff?

WHY did we not put Coker in there? That kid played great all year and is a tough runner who holds onto the ball.

I am going to temper my comments, because I know his family reads this message board, but I have always felt Foster is a mediocre back with questionable ball-handling skills. While he had some good runs today, those same runs would have been stuffed by most SEC defenses.

Mr. Coker seems to be the future at UT. Hopefully we can get a bruising fullback to run alongside him.

I thought it was legitimate criticism. Is somebody here trying to protect his family from a legitimate discussion about his ball-handling problems? If so, PM me please before yanking the thread.

I feel real bad for this kid. After a good Freshman year he had a huge Somphore slump and to top it all off the big fumble. I hope he get it togther for next year.

Our running backs are very talented... We need a better coach to work with them, and some sort of offensive line... We should be happy we have three backs like this all bringing a new dimension to our running game and are all young, but until we coach them better, and get some sort of line, we will be pulling our hair out.

I do too, I can't believe to imagine how much confidence he has lost.. especially after 2 fumbles.. I hope he can come back next year and prove that this year was just a fluke.

I don't think he's coming back, confidence-wise Frankly, I don't want him touching the ball again. He's a mediocre back. Give him blocking assignments for others, and let Coker and others lead the way. Real backs finish drives. I don't see him doing that - he certainly didn't do it today.

Relax . . . Duplicate threads are flying up fast and furious and we're having to move and merge stuff all over the place. Just trying to keep the board readable.

I was surprised tyo see Coker play so little, particularly given his TD run. Was he in the doghouse for something?

Rumor is Coker had an academic suspension part of the game. No question he's the best back at this point.

He is not ready for big-time college football. He still looks like he is in highschool. He thinks he can break every tackle and it costs him constanly. He played sparingly through the year because he thought he could break tackles and ended up losing yards like it was going out of style.

If he was in the doghouse then Fulmer should have benched him the whole game. Coker is and should be our one and only back. Everytime he touches the ball you think he could go all the way. If Fulmer has so much of a man crush on Foster then maybe both need to be on their way out of TN. I am serious about this. Even if you blame the sophmore slump for Fosters aweful play, then the coaches need to realize this and not play him at all and let him try again next year... And don't even get me started on Hardesty. He is a big joke as well.

Agree completely. Coker is the one bright spot in the backfield. Let's get a talented fullback and create a one-two punch in our running game. Does anybody have info on what our future at fullback looks like?

He had a great game up to that point.He will come back more determined than ever.If I blame anyone it's either Brett Smith or an overly zealous faculty at UT trying to make and or prove a point with him, especially if he has good class attendance and has turned in all of his work.Just an opinion.

I wouldnt ever blame Foster. He played his butt off. But Coker should have been in the game at the end.

I think the majority of people on here are not blaming either of those two. It's FULMER we are all blaming and FULMER we are sick of, because this stuff is never gonna end with him!

I'm not blaming him solely for the loss. However, I do believe his fumble was the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back." I knew we were toast at that point, and that PSU was going to run the ball down our throat during their next possession, which they did. His fumble absolutely killed all the momentum we had during that drive.
