He didn't ask for a list of religions that Americans have confirmed in polls that they'd be comfortable voting for over an atheist candidate. He asked how many atheists do we know of in football. Of course, probably over a third don't actually believe in anything, but being open about it is another matter entirely.
My point was we don't know for any players unless by doing research on the individual player.
Why is it relevant?
I'm not comfortable voting for any NFL player for president.
Why should anyone care about a player's beliefs one way or another?
Besides the closeted Tebow I can't name a single "christian" one.
Football wasn't like the last bastion for Christian athletes..
It's a non story..its like running an article on the first black person to graduate college.
congrats what field do you work in?
Thank you kind, sir.
When I was just a young lad, I lost my younger brother to a home invasion gone wrong. The case has never been solved. I told myself ever since that day I would be part of a force who puts and holds individuals accountable for their wrongdoings.
In one month I will be moving to Las Vegas to start training for the forensic investigation section at the Nevada department of public safety.

Closet? And what makes it pathetic?
With how thin-skinned Christians are about critiques i try not to insult them in any way, but I guess it's fine to call us pathetic?
I understand you've become a bit jaded by all the "firsts" for people who have nothing directly to do with you, and I agree that the "First black" has now reached a bit of a "who cares anymore" spot when we're talking about the "First black person to own a BMW and also be elected to public office" kind of stuff.
But you seriously don't think the first black person to graduate college is a big deal?
No wonder you have such a hard time understanding the gravity of this situation.
And you're not even religious. Well, at least beyond some nominal nonsense.
Geez, guy.

You might find this odd but I don't find the first anything because of my skin color even remotely newsworthy. It's a half assed attempt to drum up some nonexistent pride.
There is NO gravity to the situation of some dude who plays football saying he doesn't believe in god. Oh lawd have mercy!
