Total Offense | FBS Football Statistics - NCAA.com
UT is ranked #111 out of 128 teams in total offense.
Hopefully, some of the issues can be addressed and resolved in the next few weeks or it will get pretty ugly.
GO VOLS!
People want the W and to cover their eyes and ears to what is actually hAppening on a deeper level.
This board will go berserk in 2 weeks unless some drastic improvement occurs.
i've about got it fiqured out. CBJ is a sales manager in disguise. He can get the recruits to buy into the program but his downside is he simply doesn't know how the product is supposed to work. My biggest complaint: Josh D., in the shotgun. He stands there, straight up, for every defensive player to see, and at times takes one step to hand off to hurd. i don't get the initial hesitation. i don't get the fact that dobbs isn't under center ever. the best we had at UT was adamant about carrying out play fakes with or without the ball. the reason is that DB's and LB's may not be in position to see the ball at all times and good executing QB's always bend over slightly and hide the ball behind the big lineman. the reason it is executed in this manner is to get that extra split second to keep the defense off balance. This current offense at UT simply hasn't been taught this nor do they use any mis-direction. UT's offense is bland. Whatever CBJ is selling, i'm simply not buying. I don't think he's capable of turning it around. And thats the most concerning thing. This team is supposedly loaded with veteran talent now. So whats the problem?
He set Kamara up to be decapitated with his foolishness of running the same play, just to the opposite side. No creativity whatsoever.
You can blame DeBord from now on..... but it is Jones' O being run Jones' way.
There are NO essential changes in the system from what UT ran under Jancek and now. The players are deeper into the system. That's all that's been added.
The O WOULD change if Jones told DeBord to do it his way.... for better or worse.
IMO, there are two ways to look at the O's problems and account for the facts. One, the system simply doesn't work against top tier D's. Two, Dobbs' inability to throw the mid and deep passes prevents the system from working.
And yes, I know that Dobbs threw two long TD passes already. Both were great plays by Malone on 50/50 balls. Both would have been clean had Dobbs thrown on time and led Malone properly.
When UT attacks the mid and deep middle.... you'll know they trust the accuracy and timing of their QB.
So... you rather have our offensive output of last year and we lose those games?
I am hgetting tired of swing pass to a motioning Kamara. Either get the WRs to block or stop it.
Who plays and who doesn't play is more political than you think, trust me. It's not about who is better. I've personally seen video of O-lineman walking the dog with other O-lineman, and bullying D-Lineman. But that is not the video that the media is allowed to show. That's not the narrative they want fans to follow. I've heard members here saying particular players are a bust because they haven't played. Ask yourself a question, If that's true, why haven't they been released and allowed to transfer so a scholarship can be freed up?
