Well, by my count Tennessee won 150 games from 1950-1970 (20 seasons). Ole Miss won 163. While I stand corrected for that 20 year period, it doesn't change the fact that Tennessee has DOMINATED Ole Miss 43-18-1.
In fact, during this time period Tennessee won 3 of our 6 National Championships (50, 51, 67). Ole Miss won their only 3 EVER (59,60,62). The glory days have long since left the Old Miss program. The last time they were ranked #1 was 1964..which is pathetic.
Tennessee is the 10th winningest program in college football history (taking into account Penn State's vacated wins). Ole Miss is 51st right behind juggernauts Wabash and Dayton and a few spots above Williams and Northern Iowa. Historically, the two are night and day. I could go on with bowl appearances, bowl wins, conference titles.
Tennessee historically has been the 2cnd best team in the SEC. We have the second most SEC championships. Ole Miss has the 7th most out of a conference that had 10 members for a significant period of time. That clearly puts Tennessee "near the top" historically and Ole Miss scraping the bottom, historically.
It's not close, even "back in the day."
