Apparently Others Think Pruitt won't get it done

Where does this myth come from that Swinney failed in his second year? They won nine games that year. Last I checked that's slightly better than our second-year coaches have done, or are presently doing.
Because that was technically is first full year. Although he went 4-3 in his interim year. He went 6-7 in his second full year with a bowl loss. I wish 6-6 was considered a bad year in tennessee.

I’m with you.
And it’s not just that they beat us.
They often dominated on both lines of scrimmage.
And it wasn’t that we gave them a bunch of turnovers either.
They were simply the better team.
I sat in utter disbelief.
This same Georgia State team went on to lose to Western Michigan 57-10 two games later.

Georgia State, a commuter school in downtown Atlanta, only started football 10 years ago and was picked to finish last again in their conference.
You would be hard pressed to find ANY player on their team that was even offered a scholarship by an SEC school.
This was an unbelievable, UNFORGIVABLE loss.

When someone shows you who they are, believe them.
Pruitt showed us that day.
And, almost as bad as the loss, he showed no outrage or real disgust after the game.
He did not apologize to the fans for the national embarrassment and promise that nothing like that would EVER happen again.

He’s not the right guy.
Again. And I know that means shelling out a ton of money to get rid of him and his staff and getting all new ones.
And, no, I don’t know who we could get specifically that would be better and want the job.
But someone would. And that’s what Fulmer must do and I hope he does it soon.
“That which must be done eventually, must be done immediately “.
Its weird, when games like that happen, at halftime the coach usually goes in and turns it up adjust and wins....our guy had no idea what to do.

THIS!
I’m trying to be fair to him and this staff.
But is there one game in the past two seasons that we have made meaningful halftime offensive or defensive adjustments.
That is VERY concerning.

AU last year is pretty easy.

For me, the worst thing he did was come out at the presser and the next day with that bored, annoyed, slightly PO’d look he maintains when interacting with the press or the great unwashed (aka fans) and act as if nothing had happened and we were all overreacting at the loss.

He realized the magnitude of his FU and activated his emotion chip for BYU. Apparently he thinks that fixed the problem and has gone back to the bored, annoyed, PO’d thing he learned from lil Nick.

Pruitt strikes me as an odd dude, who is in a bit over his head. I’m pulling for him because there is no other option, but I’m less and less hopeful.

Adjustments?
I seem to remember success all game by just throwing up the 50/50 balls to our WR.
You remembered poorly.
We gave up 17 points in the first half and 7 in the second. And that 7 came with a min left in the game.

We were down 17-13 at the half and outscored them 17 -7 in the second.

Right on point.

Should have been a follow up since he can see the future why not tell us who we are suppose to hire as well

Dudleys, it's so obvious. If we can't get Saban, then Gruden (I "hear" he hates the NFL), Miles or Meyer. Can't miss hires. Playoffs in second year.

Who did we hire the last time we yanked off the bandage?
The yankings have been justified.
It’s the reapplications that have sucked.
Have an interim coach the rest of this year.
Then have Fulmer TRULY scour the country interviewing with a big check in hand.

Very poor analysis by Rivals on Coach Pruitt. First, Coach Pruitt inherited the worst situation in the history of Vol football left by former Coach Butch Jones. This includes players with poor speed, not of SEC qualified skills and a team with a poor attitude and desire to play and win. Coach Pruitt really had no time for his first recruiting class. He is playing freshmen and slowly building an offensive and defensive line of height and size. You can not do this in 2 years either as Rivals has overlooked. Speaking of attitude, did anyone notice that while Georgia State was thrashing our team that there were Coach Jones players sitting on the bench in conversation and laughing? Laughing while getting thrashed...that is a very poor attitude. If Mauer continues to improve at QB and these young freshmen get experience and will some more good players, Coach Pruitt will shove the words of Rivals down their throat next year.
Best thing to happen in the Pruitt era is the go ahead to sell beer.

If Pruitt is fired this year, regardless of record, then ANY coach at ANY level of ability will ask for a massive buyout for the first three years of their contract. There isn't a coach out there that is willing to take a chance at uprooting their lives and leaving whatever job they have to go to a Head Coaching position like this. One that will start at a hot seat level and have a potential for firing at less than 24 games total coached. If those that are of the instant gratification persuasion get their way we are permanently doomed.

None of those mentioned would have lost to a Georgia State.

And Saban shouldn’t have lost to Louisiana Monroe raging Cajuns but guess what.... it happened.

Your like a boy you lost his first girl friend. There’s more out there. Move on.

And here we were just talking about Pruitt never making meaningful adjustments and you expecting a group of people to agree on something that have brought us Kiffin, Dooley, Jones, and Pruitt in succession? Lol

Ask the Iowa State and UAB and Western Michigan coach what life in Knoxville would be like.

Who do you guys think will provide the money for that "Big Check"? This site routinely rants about donors interfering with the hiring process, kind of like political groups, when the person they wanted doesn't get hired. Those same donors are the ones expected to dole out millions of dollars for these phantom checks that seem to be floating out there. Heck, if there is that much money just floating around, I would like a couple hundred grand for myself.

We’re an awful ball team but may as well ride with Pruitt till his contract is up. We’ve tried coach after coach and always lose so may as well lose with the same coach for a few years he has plenty of time to build a team be nice to give his full contract and see where he takes us. Till then let’s drink our 13$ beers in neyland win or lose
