Anyone booing the decision to kick a FG to end the half is an idiot.

The FG gave us the lead going into the half. That's something positive to build on during the halftime speech. "Troy scored 20 unanswered points and they're still losing." We get the ball back in the 3rd with a good chance to expand the lead. We weathered the best our opponent had to throw at us and we're still in the lead. Huge for morale.

no one is listening to his halftime speech anyway. the team has no respect for him. did you see sunseri yelling at the defense on the sidelines and they were all just zoned on looking into the stands?

even the officials know hes a lame duck and have been screwing us again this week after a royal screwing vs SC

this team is like a 5th grade classroom with a substitute teacher

If we had run the ball with only a few seconds to go before the half and the half expired with us running only one play, then we would have been on the 1 yard line with no points to show for it.
Also, lets imagine we lose by 2 points. Then we would have said "Dooley should have kicked the field goal from the 1 yard line and we would have won the game"

If we lose by 2 points who gives a S%!@! It would be a 2 point loss to Troy. Field goal or no field goal, there would be alot more wrong with that outcome than a field goal at halftime. But your probably right, we should play it safe and squeek out a win against a MAC, WAC or whatever crappy conference team they are!!

There is a good chance he lost Bray with that call. He was ballistic and may just say f it and check out the rest of the game. They must have snipped something off on DD while they fixed his hip. He definitely doesn't have a set now.

Were getting the ball back next quarter. Either way if troy scores and we don't. We lose.

Come on man,it's Troy! A sunbelt team! There's no reason why we shouldn't be blowing out the candles right now but instead we are hanging on by a thread! We should have ran it down there throats at the one yard line then turn around and do it again after half time! But no FOOLEY wants to kick a field goal! Surprised we actually made that! I love my vols but this is pitiful!

Are you serious? You dont build on a 31-30 halftime lead on Troy. FG was not the right call when our QB hasnt been stopped, nor as the receivers. The 3rd down draw was aweful so I expect nothing less. If we have to kick a FG to take a 1pt lead on Troy at the half then momentum and something to build on is irrelevant.

Who is the idiot? We weathered the best they had? How did we weather it? The only thing that has stopped Troy was time running out. I think most booing were booing the fact that we are playing Troy and had it first and goal at the 4 and instead of running it down their throats like any respectable SEC team would do we throw it on 1st and 2nd down then run on 3rd. There is about a 95% chance we score a touchdown had we just ran the damn ball.

It was great coaching the way Dooley lobbied the officials to put the two extra seconds on the clock from 38 to 40 just so he could run the clock down to 1 before kicking the field goal. Just brilliant

He's always been excellent at clock management.
Sarcasm of course.

Your user name should be diarrhea. Just exploding with excuses. Kicking the fg was correct. The fact that we needed to kick it in the first place is the problem.

Minus the juvenile insult, I agree.
