My biggest question is how does the SEC think this is the safest course of action. Seems to me this is a cop out to keep from paying visiting OOC teams. Also, most of the states in the South, including Tennessee, are on the cusp of another lock down anyhow.

This is essentially going to be a lost year anyways so I’m all for getting that LSU game out of the way this year.

I agree with RoaminVol's premise. Burrows is gone. Passing game coordinator Joe Brady is gone. RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is gone. They only have one of their offensive lineman starters returning. On defense their DC Dave Aranda is gone. Two of the Tigers’ top three tacklers, Jacob Phillips (113 stops) and Patrick Queen (85) left early for the NFL, along with pass-rush specialist K’Lavon Chaisson. Jim Thorpe Award-winning safety Grant Delpit is gone.

So, yeah, this ain't the 2019 national championship Tigers. If we get them early and JG does not #$# the bed I could see an upset here. That would definitely be a huge momentum boost for the season.

And even though there have probably been some coaching direction to the players in the downtime, any team (LSU,GA, and somewhat Bama) breaking in a new QB with lack of Spring practice will struggle in the first few games. That could play well for the VOLS if, and Hawkeye said - JG can't crap the bed. He has a reputation of playing like a freshman QB that missed spring practice.

The last 15 years of Tennessee football have been embarrassing but why dwell on the past and play the well if this would have happened game? Tennessee beat Indiana and won 8 games last year, its over move on

Tennessee is on the cusp of another lockdown, which is why they moved the season back a month.

My guess is that it's easier to get an SEC schedule done within the conference rather than create a mess where each team has to figure out when and how to reschedule OOC games which are typically worked out years in advance and not that easy to accommodate changes.

Also, if there arent going to be fans in the stands generating revenue (I HIGHLY doubt fans will be allowed in) then they wont want to pay money to these smaller schools for the OOC schedule. Its a way of reducing the damages to their budget that are going to happen.

I think there was speculation somewhere or other that the additional conference games we'd pick up would wind up being the next two non-Alabama west rotation opponents we'd face (2021 home vs Ole Miss, 2022 at LSU).

The conference can control their member schools’ protocol for testing and quarantine in the event of infection. It’s a proverbial bubble situation.

Which basically proves the NCAA governing body is useless and needs to go ahead and close shop. I can't imagine that one conference is vastly different in philosophy than any other provided CDC guidelines are followed.

I felt we were the better team in 2007 but Ainge melted down in the 4th quarter. We had them in 2010 until too many men on the field. Hopefully we get them this year and avenge those losses.
