What was his opinion on Sankey?
I don't know what Hubbs had to say about Sankey since I don't subscribe to his articles, only follow him on Twitter.

Paraphrased, Hubbs was saying its a significant ADVANTAGE for Tennessee. He calls Sankey the most powerful person in Div I sports, especially with NCAA having issues corralling NIL, transfer portal, and playoff expansion argument, etc. Also they know Sankey/SEC is the cash cow for NCAA sports and Hubbs thinks its clear Sankey is there to help protect Tennessee.

He goes on to say, Sankey has a lot of influence (or should) over new NCAA pres Charlie Baker. But where I see somewhat of a positive (and didnt know this previous), Sankey was the co-chairman and main author of the NCAA's Transformation Committee. They were instrumental in the re-writing of the penalization of those responsible for violations (i.e. coaches, specific staff, players) instead of the overall institution itself or players who enroll years later, etc.

Basically its Hubbs lobbying for a job at the SEC office, save that last part about the Transformation Committee. If anyone is going to help Tennessee in any regard, its the guy who helped write the rule about punishment.

Here’s my question:
Does Pruitt implicate previous schools claiming what happened at TN was “common practice” or does Fulmer get caught up in the wash? I wish it was the former but believe it will be the latter even though both scenarios are most likely true.

this hearing is not about giving new testimony. The NCAA investigative team has given what the penalties should be. Pruitt and Tennessee have objected to some of the penalties.

This hearing allows the investigative team to state why they feel the penalties are appropriate. Then UT and Pruitt state why they should be something else. The committee then engages in dialogue with both parties.

Its not a findings hearing. That has already happened with the months long investigation. There were no findings to implicate Fulmer so would not expect anything to come out at his hearing.

The fact that Sankey there makes me feel better about this, but also how serious the penalties must be. They sure as hell didn’t accept our offer.
But they can’t smash us with SEC commish in there- he’s the most powerful man in CFB

You obviously know more about these hearings than I do. Based on what you’re saying this is a debate about penalties/sanctions, no?

There is no case in court, his representation threatened a lawsuit but never filed it and the statute of limitations has long run out.
Has it? In Georgia the statute of limitations on contract disputes is 4 to 6 years depending on the type of contract. I don't know about Tennessee though.

That is exactly what it is. Had UT accepted the sanctions the investigation team wanted UT would not be at a hearing. Only Pruitt would be there unless he accepted the sanctions. No hearing at all had all parties agreed.

It wouldn't surprise me to see hearings over today.

They are there trying to keep the golden goose from being killed.
If we get fried, Danny is in a bad situation all of a sudden. I can’t believe the proposed penalties haven’t leaked in the press yet. Too many people know what they are now. They can’t keep this quiet for much longer.
