When you have a 45 year career employee who has been promised a position it is a problem. Especially when there are no employees currently with the knowledge or history of ut athletics. We continue to pursue the future and break the mold of the past. I liked the good ole days when we use to compete on the national level. I think we need as much connection as we can get to those days. Bud was the last connection we had.

Bud escorted us around the Neyland the Friday before homecoming this year so we could do some of our engagement pictures throughout the stadium. Very nice man IMO. I can only speak regarding the one time I met/talked with him. Good guy in my book.
Regardless if Bud was considered rude or not, which in some circles he did get under the skin of some people. Bud is a CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Hall of Famer and that is the highest honor you can receive in sports information. Regardless of his personality, Bud is clearly one of the best sports PR professionals to ever work in the business.
he's probably as good of a guy as people itt who apparently know him say he is.
he dropped the ball big-time in that kiffin press conference.
Employment has nothing to do with being a good or a bad person. It is about being a useful employee. It has been determined that Bud's services were no longer required. It is just how things work. We should all wish him well.
Harris D. Ford, along with John Ward, Gus Manning, and the late Heywood Harris are basically the only reasons we know anything of the history and traditions of Tennessee athletics. I'm really getting tired of people who think history started the day they first took a dump in a diaper.
Plenty of record books but no one at ut who knows what is in them.
Did everyone forget how to read? I'm pretty sure UT puts one of these books our every year. UT keeps records. I wish you would just admit the old guy didn't do anything but collect a check. I like hart if is going to cut the crap money drains.
