Any truth to Bud Ford being kicked to the curb?

I liked the good ole days when we use to compete on the national level. I think we need as much connection as we can get to those days. Bud was the last connection we had.

What did Bud Ford have to do with the product on the field?

Anyone watch the Tennessee 101 videos on Youtube Bud and ??? made? Production quality seemed on par with a 12 year old just figuring out how to use a webcam.

When you have a 45 year career employee who has been promised a position it is a problem. Especially when there are no employees currently with the knowledge or history of ut athletics. We continue to pursue the future and break the mold of the past. I liked the good ole days when we use to compete on the national level. I wouldn't mention that to Condredge Holloway.

Those were done by the same staff that does the Dooley show and the Jumbotron videos.

Nonsense. Where does it say on the box that, if you work long enough, you get to keep getting a paycheck even if you're not working anymore? Ford isn't being fired; he's retiring. He's just not going to get the golden parachute that Hart's predecessor magnanimously offered him, because Hart doesn't want to just set $75,000 on fire.

If Bud Ford gets his feelings hurt because he doesn't get paid for three extra years to do nothing, then well, I can't get too worked up about that.

Regardless if Bud was considered rude or not, which in some circles he did get under the skin of some people. Bud is a CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Hall of Famer and that is the highest honor you can receive in sports information. Regardless of his personality, Bud is clearly one of the best sports PR professionals to ever work in the business.

Bud escorted us around the Neyland the Friday before homecoming this year so we could do some of our engagement pictures throughout the stadium. Very nice man IMO. I can only speak regarding the one time I met/talked with him. Good guy in my book.

Amen. People wondered who perpetuated the attitude almost everywhere that UT was an institution rich in sports history and tradition and a great place for your kids to go to school and participate in sports. It was Bud and he will be missed. Anyone saying otherwise has their head in their ass imo.

Bud Ford contributed nothing to UT in 45 years? My god,who are the members on this board- kids under 25 or those who go to work with their names on their shirts? Many on here never cease to amaze me.

Harris D. Ford, along with John Ward, Gus Manning, and the late Heywood Harris are basically the only reasons we know anything of the history and traditions of Tennessee athletics. I'm really getting tired of people who think history started the day they first took a dump in a diaper.

he's probably as good of a guy as people itt who apparently know him say he is.

he dropped the ball big-time in that kiffin press conference.

Employment has nothing to do with being a good or a bad person. It is about being a useful employee. It has been determined that Bud's services were no longer required. It is just how things work. We should all wish him well.

You have no clue what you are talking about. An employment agreement is different.

There are plenty of record books and lots of film of UT sports. No real reason to pay a guy to work a couple days a week on it. UT has already been really good to the guy. Time for him to show some other importance or move on.

Plenty of record books but no one at ut who knows what is in them.

Did everyone forget how to read? I'm pretty sure UT puts one of these books our every year. UT keeps records. I wish you would just admit the old guy didn't do anything but collect a check. I like hart if is going to cut the crap money drains.

You don't have a clue. What has hart done to date for ut? I Know what bud ford has done for the department.

Great...more HR experts.

Thanks for shining the light for us. I'm sorry we lost such an asset that had already retired once.

Funny. I actually am a hr manager. Also, I think the man has a pretty good case if he pursues it. Especially since it was part of the agreement when he retired.
