You are 100% correct. They spend every single year shredding Tommy Bowden and then develop delusions of grandeur after he beats FSU and South Carolina.

My vision of a post-interview analysis inside Coach Fulmer's head. Does this person have the experience and gravitasse to be head coach at UTK? If so, scratch him off the list.

I think Bowden fired his entire staff at the end of 04 to protect himself after a bad season. I doubt their is a lot of loyalty on his staff.

That said, I don't think a coach Tommy Bowden mentored would be my first choice for an OC. He's not had a lot of success at Clemson, and has been under fire there most of his tenure.

Bowden has been at Clemson, 9 seasons and never won the ACC:

2004 Clemson 6-5 Declined bowl bid as a self-imposed punishment for team fighting
2005 Clemson 8-4 Won Champs Sports Bowl (Colorado)
2006 Clemson 8-5 Lost Music City Bowl (Kentucky)
2007 Clemson 9-3 Chick-fil-A_Bowl (Auburn)

Exactly . . . This might have been true 10 years ago, but he's now got a contract that will effectively take him to retirement age. What has he got to worry about?
