Any Reports On The Spence Interview

The seat is cool and the leash is nonexistent.

@UCLA, FLA, @AU and @UGA..... 4 of the first 6 oponents. Lose 3 of those four out of the gate and CPF will need to sit in a bucket of ice!

Listen, I am a Silver Victor and I like CPF but I remember the uproar only a few short months ago. You can't tell me the pressure cooker won't exist if we lose 4-5 games next year.....

As for me, I love UT and they will continue to get my $$$$$ as long as I live......no matter who's coaching!!!!!!

I think Phil goes 7-5 next season and is forced to retire by UT Boosters (not Hamilton). If we would have lloss to either SC, Ark Vandy or KY then Phil would be done this year. But we found a win to win all four and save Phil his job.

Maybe we get hammered in the bowl (a comon thing in the Fulmer era lately) and go 7-5 or worse next season and we'll be good to go w/ a new coach. Only way it will happen, is if we lose some games..

This post lets me know all I need to know about you. I can't believe people would actually pull for the team to lose just to change coaches.

Exactly, Ive thought that for a while. I could care less who the coach is as long as we win. Yes, I know CPF hasn't exactly lit it up here lately but Im just saying some people need to give it a rest and chear for the team!!!!!

seeing a lot of the poor support around here including posters citing bowl games as useless and not worth watching.

For me it is another game and I enjoy the opportunity to watch the Vols play.

I can't stand losing - thats' why I think Phil has wore out his welcome. At one time he had us a top five powerhouse, now we're no more than a top 25 program.

He's just been here too long, he's the dean of the sec coaches, these new-er guys are eating his lunch (well doubt that literally) then you'd probably see a different side of Phil.

I just want to see us play some modern day ball and have a shot at a SEC Title/NC every 4-5 yrs. Phill will never have us in a BCS bowl game, its pathetic. He hasn't been to a BCS bowl game in nearly 10 seasons nor has he won a conference title in a decade, if you want a top level program you have to win those things on occasion...

Go Phil your the greatest, I love how you clap after bad palys and how you get in those kickers "grill". Love how we throw 2 yard hitches on 3rd and 8.

Pls tell me one thing, you like watching those things I mentioned above???

What exactly is "modern day ball".....

Does playing for the SEC Championship count as "having a shot at the SEC Title"....

Watching UCLA play now, only reason they are in the game is BYU is SLOOOW, Ben Olsen is a joke, I'm confident I could coach the Vols to victory against them, even with their current top 5 recruiting class.

Florida will be tough obviously, but this is Chavis' 3rd chance against Tebow, hopefully he will finally have a bead on him.

Auburn loses alot of key players, and might be trying to learn a new offense.

Georgia is the team I am most fearful of, with 2 let downs in a row against us, I think they will be fired up, especially with a more experienced Moreno.

All in all, I think we will do well next year. Florida, Bama, Georgia are the teams I am uneasy about.

No true fan would want us to lose games just to get a new coach.:banghead2::nono:

Of course I don't like watching the Vols struggle which is exactly why I would never pull for them to lose.

If I recall correctly I believe Fulmer lead them to a shot at the SEC title. Obviously they didn't win it but they were in position to win it without what I'm assuming you are calling "modern day ball" vs. "Fulmer ball".

That being said, Fulmer did show flashes of some "modern day ball" with GJ at QB. Some may say he didn't use GJ enough in that formation but he would be hard to use him more than a few times and it still be successful unless he ventures out a little further and lets him throw a pass out of the G-Gun

The fact that you think there is "modern day football" tells me all I need to know about you.

soooooooo, any reports on the Spence interview???

Apparently not rex. Do you find that strange that we aren't getting any feedback from either side? I guess, at this point, we just have to assume it's because it's still early in the process.

Hey freak, who do you think will be the next OC at UT?

I'm still holding out hope that we are going to be surprised with the decision. However, I think the media fully believes it's going to be Kippy Brown.

this was a post on a tiger board...

Tennessee is a storied program, but hasn't been so great lately. And lets be real now, the gameday at UT is no better than Clemsons.

Now I think most everyone would agree Clemson is one of the top 15 coaching jobs in the country... but is definately one of the top 10.

Is that a HUGE difference? I don't know, hard to say. Either way though, Spence and Bowden are too close, Spence is staying.

I also found this post very interesting....

Last time I looked we kicked the crap out of Tenn. Don't get me wrong I pull for Tenn. when they are not playing Clemson, but Tenn is not Clemson. We would beat Tenn as often as we beat South Caro.

Clemson fans are delusional. UT gameday is better than Clemson's. Clemson touches that rock, everything else is lame. Clemson isn't a top 15 job, otherwise they wouldn't be stuck with Bowden. If Clemson played UT every year, they'd beat us about as often as SC beats us.
