All day.

Would do this first but I think I'm more partial to replaying Metal Gear Solid all the way through

Also, Safer Sephiroth without KOTR was a whooooooore. Only one worse was emerald weapon... Or ruby. One of those two was a pita.

EMERALD WEAPON. I have nightmares about that guy.

I know a real easy way to beat it. One of it's attacks deals 1,111 hps per materia the person has equipped. So, if you have 2 materias equipped it deals 2,222 hps. If your characters HP is 9999 and the attack does 2,222, you end up at 7,777. If you didn't know when you get to 7,777 hps it sends you in a frenzy slashing the enemy for 7,777 hp each hit 50+ times.

Wow, do not remember that. Is that any time in the game you get 7,777 hp?

What if you set up your character to have 7,777 hp? :) Will he immediately kill all enemies at the start of battle?

I hate to change the subject but I'm in the plains of Gran Pulse on XIII and this whole weapons upgrade system is gaaaaayyyy.

I'm gonna go ahead and say they botched that aspect

Weird. But I had a dream that I picked up at Blockbuster a copy of some sort of non-existent anthology that had FF VI, VII and VIII.

Yeah, it was called lucky 7's. The downfall is once it's done your HP falls to 1. As far as I know there isn't a way to get a characters HP to 7777 at lvl 99. You can do it at lower levels, but once you level up it's gone. You can manipulate your HP with potions and spells to do it though. It's a lot of trouble though and there are better strategies to defeat the tough enemies.

I'd buy it. FFVII is going to be sold again for PC sometime soon. It's the original version though, no updates at all IIRC.

I don't understand why they don't re-make it, at least update it with HD textures. It's the highest selling FF of all time. It's like 5th on the list of Playstation highest selling games. It's almost gauranteed to out sell all the new gen FF games combined.

Final Fantasy really started sliding after IX. X was okay but didn't take full advantage of the PS2's hardware, XI only managed to be fun if you were an MMO person, XIII was far too linear and I would never, ever pay to play XIV.

XII was pretty cool in spite of the new battle system. However, I got it right when the PS3 came out so it looked absolutely dreadful compared to how I'd imagine it looked on the PS2.

VIII is still my favorite RPG of all time.

Bought a PS2 slim. May take it back in a couple weeks if I decide to get my PS3 fixed.

Anyway, starting a new game of FFVII now.

I loved the open battle system of XII. Tried to play X afterwards and couldn't stand the old style battles and XIII went back to the old style.

Sorry, but you don't need to treat every fight as if it's a boss battle.

I only played through the opening before realizing I didn't have a PS1 memory card.

I'm gonna get my PS3 repaired and hold off on any more until I do.

Love Final Fantasy. Recently acquired Dawn of Souls (FFI and FFII), classic. Also want to give some love to DragonQuest, another great RPG series that has my favourite game of all time (DragonQuest VIII).

Another great series. Dragon Quest IV for the NES is one of my best gaming experiences ever, with the chapter system.

I'll hopefully be getting the DS remake of DQIV before long. Looking forward to it. Someone mentioned Tactics earlier in the thread, another series that is similar to Tactics is Fire Emblem. Amazing Strategy RPG series.

I remember trying to play it without a memory card when on vacation back in 97. I made it to the Turks twice and got killed both times. Pissed me off!!!

I never played, 9,12, or 13. Am I really missing anything or will I just be let down from awesomeness that is 7,8, and 10.
