another article smearing Peyton

Didn't realize stories have to be repeated multiple times, each time with a different spin, so newer generations can lazily become aware of certain events.

No one said any story necessarily has to be repeated. But it someone wants to write non-defamatory articles, that is his 1st Amendment right to do so. If the article is defamatory to Manning, then Manning has a right to sue the author.

I do not suppose he has looked into Cam Newton's past...
I guess as long as you do not "pretend" to have clean record it is ok.

I'm thinking when this all shakes out This Shaun King twit will end up doing a lot more harm to himself than to Payton Manning or to UT. This is just going to bring to light that he is in fact a con man and a complete fraud. To start with he is obviously white and even after he is exposed he still maintains he is black. He has been caught red handed in plagiarism. He started several charities and when they all came up hundred's of thousands of dollars short he sold them off. Never answering to where the money went. He has been excommunicated from Black Lives Matter for being a liar and refusing to answer questions about money he has taken in for the cause. This guy is a complete fraud and now the rest of the world will know it. Every story he writes will be another nail in his coffin. He's toast

I can maybe buy the timing of this episode being brought up again. But King's zeal in going after Manning and the way he's turned Nauright into Susan B. Anthony and Rosa Parks rolled into one is bizarre.

Need to win a ring to be relevant. Wins a ring. No you really need to win 2 rings to be up there. Wins 2 rings and now he had nothing to do with winning it and let's drag up a story from 20 years ago!!! I just hate to see what this guy has to go through.

Hyperbole, melodrama and a sensational headline were necessary to attract attention to a 20 year old story. That's the only way to make old news relevant. Clay Travis summed it up pretty well. I can't believe that no one besides Travis has found irony in King's title which asserted that Manning's image was built on lies.

I read b/r article that said his "reputation was in question" with this incident. Seriously? So the guy did something bad 20 years ago and his entire reputation is in doubt? OK.

It's why sports narratives are stupid and can't be taken seriously.

Who's challenging his 1st Amendment rights? And my first amendment rights allow me to point out the obvious that he is wannabe racebaiter that should be exposed for his criminal activity of posing as a not for profit organization without being licensed and stealing donations for personal gain. It's also my first amendment rights to trash an unprofessional subhuman bum for regurgitating a story that has already been ran in the ground 20 years ago. Not to mention these rights allow me to question the mental capacity for anyone taking up for said subhuman pos. Funny how people want rights when it fits their agenda, but then stifle others when it doesn't.

Stop being naive. I love Peyton, but he did do this and it was wrong. It is an interesting point to bring up that had this occurred in the age of FB and Twitter, I wonder how Peyton's reputation would be viewed today. I thought the article was very well written, and while I love UT and Peyton regardless, it was still hard for me to read because we all know he did this.

I thought he mooned her, not sat while naked on her face. There is something wrong with that story.

I'll never understand the thinking that you have to tear down one to build another up. That's why people like King and his ideas are so detrimental

Shaun King has as much credibility as Ken Kratz. Y'all need to grow the f-up.

That's her take. Take I heard was she was checking his foot out, he pulled his pants down, she lifted her face up into Peyton's junk. Prank gone bad. The dispute appears to be over the intent which leads into a he said, she said. The example that the plaintiff documents reflect would seem to generate more long term psychological damage which she didn't apparently show by taking the money and moving on from the event rather quickly. One of the main reasons I have difficulty believing he 'sat' on her face. How would that have physically happen anyways? Did he hold her down? Did others hold her down? Did she just let it happen? Just seems like people are over analyzing and trying to get into someone's head 20 years after this happened. And anyone suggesting they know what happened, are pretty much mindless zombies that are full of it.

I never said anyone was challenging the author's 1st Amendment rights. I was just stating that no one necessarily has to write anything about Manning. But if one chooses to do so, he has that right. And that Manning has a right to sue him for defamation if anything the author wrote is false.

And yes, I agree, everyone has the 1st Amendment right to voice disagreement with the author.

Shaun King. The same guy that was "organizing" during the Ferguson black lives matter crap that was based on a complete lie. The same guy responsible for the bs that went on at Missouri..is now trying to start something at UT.

What is crazy is there are 5 pages of "the sky is falling" from the legions of miserable based on supposed inside information from a guy that lied about being black for years when he really wasn't. Even going so far to claim that the white man listed on his birth certificate wasn't his real father.

read his wiki page and you will see what a fraudulent, entitled, sleezeball he really is. Imagine for a second his sources:loco:

Seriously, how can he say Manning should not be celebrated because of his past, but want Cam to be recognized... doesn't Cam of past history even at two colleges and currently for that matter?

You know it's the off-season when people are posting "stories" from the NY Daily News. Do yourselves a favor: cancel your internet service and just subscribe to the National Enquirer.

Isn't he the same guy who has tried to pass himself off as African American when he's not?
