Andrew Butcher underage drinking

Hypothetical: So let's say that while he was running around drunk on the interstate, he causes a multiple car collision which results in several deaths. What then? It was just a drunk kid running around on the interstate? Right?

Oooh oooh...the what if game. I'm in:

WHAT IF...he was running on the interstate drunk and happened upon a car pulled over and the driver was in a diabetic coma and Butcher fed him the three sugar cookies in his pocket and saved his life.

According to court documents Butcher was, "running around on 40 east near James White Parkway." #Vols

We really have posters saying that a drunk man running around on an incredibly busy section of interstate is no big deal?

I want to visit your planet. I don't want to stay there, I'm much too afraid of that, but I do want to visit.

Ehh no big deal. If you think it is a big deal --- get off your high horse.

Everyone that young has done stupid things (to varying degrees). The real test is learning from his situation.

I always see this posted when somebody does stupid things involving alcohol or drugs. I am 43 years old and have never had alcohol or drug , outside of prescription, . So not everyone does this kind of thing.

Almost all of us have been guilty of underage drinking, we just didn't get caught, at least this wasn't involving a female or drugs

You're exactly right.

It's only 99.9% of people

I've got no problem with him drinking he had an injury in the summer that lead to him getting a RS this year. But, it sounds like he had a few to many.

Got a problem with him being charged with PUBLIC intoxication and "violating controlled road" because he was running around on an interstate at night while being drunk off his arse?

This will be okay, Butch will lay the law down on Butcher, he'll redshirt, and have a great chance for playing time his RS Soph year. Kid will be good for us

That's the real news of this story!

Exactly. It's not the underage drinking, we all did that. It's the minor part about him endangering his and other lives because he was so damn smashed that he was running around on an Interstate.

The "He didn't. Move on" claim is ridiculous. First, people criticizing Butcher have no less a claim to post/discuss the issue in a thread dedicated to doing so. Second, and most importantly, the argument that he "could have" caused damage or death, to himself or others, IS a relevant consideration IF what he did was intrinsically risky. And, nobody in their right mind would deny that running around like a drunk moron on the interstate is intrinsically risky.

Butcher was a fool, he was immature, and if the report is true he did something that could have hurt other people, or himself. He may only deserve a slap on the wrist, but it needs to be a pretty hard wrist-slap.

Edit: The University of Tennessee had a professor that died a few years ago when he was walking down the interstate at night. It isn't clear if he was under the influence, or just in a bad state of mind (or both). But, someone hit him, and it ruined one life and ended another.

I get your point, I know I'm in the minority, though I imagine it's more than .1%. I'll just have to learn to accept I'll never get a DUI in my life.

Are you sure Ihate? That DUI, that's good times. You really wanna miss out on those memories?
