And the new head coach of your 2020 Tennessee Volunteers is...

instructor - I think Peyton coming back to UT one day is interesting. I remeber hearing that Peyton had said he always wanted to be a coach after his playing days were done. But don't you think Peyton would need to get some experience before taking on a big job like UT? Recruiting, experience etc.? Maybe CLK could bring him on as Co-OC after he retires and see how he does?

My only question is why would someone with a billion dollars, who needs no more money, subject themselves to the ridicule that gets thrown at big time college coaches?

Here is my take: Peyton is currently the head coach of the Colts IMO. As much as we currently bring him/try to get him involved with our program, I dont think he would need much of a resume. Granted he may need a few years as a coordinator but I think it'd be a high possibility. What do you think an OC and QB coach, or a DC for his ability to pick them apart?

Although I never heard where Peyton said he would like to coach some day, I'm with you on this. I don't see where someone with his money and power will commit to coaching once their NFL career ends. I could see him moving into a broadcasting position such as Troy Aikman or John Gruden. This would require less time, but yet keep him in touch with the game he loves.

Gruden. I hear he has a house in the area, and may not return to Tampa Bay.

IF Peyton WERE to coach, and IF it WERE UT, then he might end up as a GA for starters. He'd only get into coaching because he misses the game itself. He's very competitive and that might give him some incentive.

For the same reason he gets out and plays every Sunday against the defensive freaks of nature in the NFL. It's somethin' to do.

Well, if Peyton got into coaching, i would say his first coaching position would probably be OC given that he basically calls the plays for the Colts already?

I don't know who the head coach will be, but I think its pretty safe to say that the QB coach would go to Crompton

I prefer the idea of Kiff in his 12th season with multiple NCs.

Al Wilson - Defensive Coordinator
Peerless Price - Special Teams & Recievers

Kiffin will be here forever just as the previous coaches were. Where else can he raise his children that is better than here? Where else will he find better facilities than here?
Once Kiffin builds up a team here why would he ever leave?

I've been to LA and it sucks, I think he's going to find out just as the other coaches have that this is just a great place to live.

Mike Leach...he will be a passing legend by then, if not now..he should have got the hire..with his offense, and the John Chavis defense...WOW! (yeah they said Meyer couldn't run his offense in the SEC either)...WH

Thanks everyone. I just lost 4 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. This thread is horrible but I just couldn't turn away.
