Highly ranked players want to play, or at least have a legit chance to play. This staff and they way they play "their guys" is starting to be a concern.

I'm not going to hijack this and turn it into another JG bashing thread, but that is the shining example if what I'm talking about...I see some of the same the way the coaches keep playing the upperclassmen instead of playing the highly touted Freshmen and Sophomores when the game is out of reach.

It's ok for you to admit that you have zero proof that fan discontent has ever driven a recruit away. Remember, it was you that said "It's may be happening to Tennessee now and has happened previously"; the burden of proof is on you, not me.

Please tell me how my pointing out that Pruitt has blowout losses in 12/32 games, is directly impacting Tennessee's football program.

Please tell me how the existence of the internet is limiting coaches like Jeremy Pruitt, but Sam Pittman seems to be unaffected by it.

Why is the burden of proof on me. Because you said so. Your insults are in another post and not above,but are typical for one whose thoughts don't run too deep. As a result of the insulting post, our back and forth repartee has deteriorated to the point of this no longer being a valid discussion. The mindless and unnecessary insults have nothing to do with our arguments, but seem to be the standard for modern discussion in the internet age. You're proving my point with respect to internet lynch mob mentality.

Where have I insulted you?

The burden of proof is on you, because you have made the erroneous claims that fan discontent with a coach's performance has previously impacted recruiting.

So again, name a recruit who didn't come to UT because some fans weren't happy with the coaching of Fulmer, Dooley, Butch, or Pruitt.

Why is it that Auburn, Bama, Michigan...I could go on and on... Why can other schools demand better and that's ok but we do it and we're a 'mob' that's killing the program?

Until this year, I had no idea how gullible, malleable, and downright ignorant most people are.

Pruitt should have never been hired in the first place so calling this absolute trainwreck of his attempt at coaching a 'tenure' is laughable.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. In the real world, when someone underperforms at a job, they are relieved of their duties eventually.

Here it is. Proof of what i said about unfair condemnation of Butch. you think we're going to get a good coach to come here with the likes of this? Judge Butch by results on the field( he gave us the two best seasons we'd had in while til the likesof you destroyed the respect of his team and killed his recruiting), and not by some comments he made that didn't hurt anything. Bunch of grade school kids---nah, nah- nah -nah-ha ha -five star hearts. you'e a bad coach because you said five star hearts--nah nah nah nah nah. You're post is the essence of why good coaches don't want to come here.

Butch Jones lost his job and recruits because it only took decent football minds ten seconds to figure out that he couldn’t hack it without Dobbs bailing his poor coaching acumen out. Are the ugly things fans said about him the reason he hasn’t had an on field coaching job in 36 months?

At least you kept your reply respectful and open to further intelligent discussion. There isw some truth to that, but national championships have been won by having a stud quarterback. i honestly don't remember who recruited dobbs. was it Dooley or was it butch? I think it was butch. I think his experience with a segment of Tennessee fans tha i call the Lynch mob destroyed his coaching career. Or maybe he's happy drawing his stress free pay and learning from the best. i don't know. Do I blame him. i don't know. The lynch mob kicked his azz and drove him out of town in a fashion that might mke him want to stick out his tongue and say nah nah nah nah nah. What good coach other than Freeze(did he really indicate he'd like to come here is gonna come here. tennessee really enjoys kicking it's ex coaches. If I live long enough, i'll eat crow if we fire Pruitt and get another Saban

Why are you asking the fans not to convince recruits to come to UT? I, as a fan, wish I could convince Pruitt not to show recruits reasons not to come here. Fans have zero ability to sway player’s opinions. Coaches have every ability to convince players to come here. You are just irrational if you think otherwise.

Are you attacking him because he asked you for evidence for your statement? Please give the names of the players that decided not to come here because of the fans. You made that statement.

Are you?I agree with you that Coacheshave every ability to convinceplayers to come here unless the boardsare dominated by a significant minority armed with their pitchforks and torches. Again, this is a throwaway season beset with strange upsets, wins and losses. Should Franklin at Penn State be fired? Would a lot of Tennesse fans be happy to hire him? Covid protocal did not affect all teams equally. Alittle digging will show that Tennessee got hit at least a little harder than average, particularly in the defensive backfield, defensive line and quarterbacks. This hurts Tennesse more than most since Pruitts real recruits are just freshmen and sophomores. Lay back , relax and let things develop. I think it may be too late to keep this good recruiting class now. Don't kid yourself. recruits read this forum and so do current players. If you're young, you've got time(I'm not young and may not have the time), but I'm willing to let the Pruitt saga play out. recruits are very much interested in coaching continuity. I think many of them have already drawn the conclusion that The man who recruited them, may not be here long.
