Can a passerby be morally justified in breaking and entering a store in order to grab a fire extinguisher to save a family trapped in a burning car?

No we aren’t and all of these examples you’ve listed are reasonable examples of when you can color outside the lines. You aren’t excused of the consequences if you chose to do so however.

But also true is the examples you’ve given are in no way similar to the situation you’ve been carrying water for going on two full days now and it’s idiotic for you to attempt claim they are. Yet here you are!🤡

What fool is going to give the parent a speeding ticket?
What fool is going to prosecute the passerby for breaking and entering?
Extreme examples are required to get some of you to admit that there must be flexibility.
Sometimes doing a greater right requires committing a lesser wrong.

Only problem here is that there was no “emergency” to justify breaking the law. We get that you hate Trump and you’ve allowed that emotion to cloud your judgment. The UCMJ doesn’t contain any gray area and it doesn’t care about your feelz. Milley committed a crime and he deserves to be punished for it.

Would you allow a student to plagiarize if they told you some sob story about a crisis at home and that the only way they could finish their paper in time was to cut, copy and paste direct quotes from source material and pass it off as their own?

Trumps behavior in the weeks before and after Jan. 6th most definitely constituted an emergency in the eyes of many at the highest levels.

I would tell a student to suck it up, take more time, or forget about the assignment all together depending on the severity of the crisis with which they were dealing.
Because as with most everything - there is that much needed gray area.
