Amateur Hour Continues

People are interested when president says Mexico is gonna buy more AG products and our Trade representatives and AG department have no idea what he’s talking about.

More orange man bs I would assume. But hopefully it’s not

I’m no expert in geopolitical treaty’s but I would think once the terms of the deal are finalized, the executive’s of the party’s involved would then go to the subordinate departments and relay the details so they could adjust accordingly. That might take a few minutes to hash out.

Meh..."Orange Man Bad"!!

I was wondering the same thing... I'm having a hard time believing they would take perfectly good corn and turn it into gas... Well, it all gets turned to gas I suppose.

Why would a country import corn to make ethanol? It's one thing to make it if you already have corn. If not, what's the point?

That was my original thought. Something like, why wouldn't we just make the ethanol? I could understand if they were just building up reserves, as corn is pretty versatile.

My other thought was, is using the ethanol mix harmful to vehicles that weren't designed that way? Maybe the 10% is universal.

Mexico is the second largest importer of corn in the world behind Japan. Within Mexico the US is the number one supplier.

Corn Imports by Country

And I believe ethanol factors into the oxygenation formulations assisting in reducing emissions. Not completely sure on that but I think that’s the reason.

Edit: yep that’s it. As far as energy content vs pure petroleum I don’t think there is a benefit.

Pesky facts get in the way of the false Trump narrative again...

No wonder from the beginning his administration announced it would tout as fact alternatives to the truth. At least they don't really pretend anymore. They know their base doesn't care and is too dumb to comprehend what they are doing.

Why didn’t you reply to me instead when I called you on your strawman? Pesky facts... LMAO!

It would help if Trump did not make so many outrageously and obviously false statements so often.

No Russian interference in election

Cleanest water in the world

Biggest inaugural crowd ever

The list is endless. Hyperbole is one thing. Constant falsehoods quite another.

How is it a strawman if Trump is claiming victory over it?
Your reply to me was a strawman. I pointed to the immigration agreement getting done within a week that had been going on since last year once the tariff threat was levied. You latched onto “what (Ag) agreement? Link?”

Straw. Man.

The US has been trying to sell more ethanol to Mexico, to offset the loss of China sales due to the trade war.

Gasp! Quotas and tariffs controlling our exports! 😧

You guys need to draw a red line and tell them to knock it off.

China’s demand plummeted by more than 100 million gallons this year after it removed a preferential tariff rate. Brazil’s imports tumbled after it put a quota on imports in September to protect its domestic producers.
