It’s a hypothetical? Lol! They said they’re trying to get it done now! And that would be bigly and yuge for our corn farmers. If/when Mexico buys more corn after this legislation is completed its coming from the US.

However, use of ethanol is still banned in the three urban areas, together they are responsible for around 26% of gasoline use so their exemption from E-10 will restrict potential demand for ethanol. It is expected that the Energy Regulatory Commission will modify the regulation to allow E10 in the three cities in 2019. The E-10 ruling is currently being challenged in several districts of Mexico’s federal courts. Five cases remain at the time of this writing. All five have been initially denied and are in the appeals process.

Discussion of upping Mexican use of ethanol has been going on for well over a year. Don't pretend Trump has suddenly gotten them to think about it as part of this deal, that is patently false. (Which is typical of Trump admin spin).

During a House Agriculture Committee hearing today, Rep. Angie Craig (D-Minn.) asked top officials from the Agriculture Department and Office of the U.S. Trade Representative if they could clarify which farm products and how much Mexico would potentially be purchasing.
“I don’t have any details to that regard,” said Gregg Doud, USTR’s chief agricultural negotiator.

USDA Undersecretary Ted McKinney-
“We do anticipate exactly what the president said in terms of restored, new, reinvigorated sales to Mexico,” he said. “But if you’re asking for a specific crop or livestock or poultry product, I don’t have that at this point, ma’am.”



Strange, doesn’t seem you are on the same page about this new deal

I don’t care if you believe it or not. But ethanol usage in Mexico is going to go up and that corn is going to come from the US.

People are interested when president says Mexico is gonna buy more AG products and our Trade representatives and AG department have no idea what he’s talking about.

More orange man bs I would assume. But hopefully it’s not

Negotiations are often hammered out after the outline is agreed upon. This is BS, "gotta find SOMETHING negative" to try and downplay this agreement. Asking the question is fine, blowing the honest answer into a headline is shat.
