Amateur Hour Continues

I believe that must be true, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why.
To support someone, in large part, not because of their policy, but because their childish and non-presidential actions frustrate, anger, and embarrass the other side seems weird.
Haven’t seen it discussed here but are you familiar with Sohrab Amari?

Great post.
There were far better choices who also embraced the same basic conservative checklist.
I write it off to anger and frustration over a changing world with which they have no control. The whole MAGA bit was his way of appealing to their desire to return to the way things were (which is impossible) rather that trying to embrace the way things are going to be. That's why I refer to the whole phenomenon as "the last gasps of a drowning man."
By the end of the Obama presidency, there was a great deal of white resentment toward this "uppity black guy" and Trump fed directly into that, as well as into other prejudices which fuel the right wing base's anger. Trump was being xenophobic... you had the wall, which became the key-word for "Make America White Again" and the birther-ism issue. There is definitely the factor of racism which has played a role in Trump's popularity. I see no way around that. Look how white his cabinet has been.

Yes.

Neither party is very forward-looking, TBH.

LOL back to the first page and hell maybe the only page in DNC playbook. The folks loved barry (not me) it was his policies they hated

I disagree. I think the Democratic Party in Congress looks much more like what America is becoming while the Republicans in Congress remain the Party of Old White Men. There is a difference. The people who vote Republican want to return us to the days of Leave it to Beaver and it's not happening.

First and foremost I support him because of his policies

Secondary is because he fights back. Your side and your media have lied and trashed every R president, and R candidate for president as far back as I can remember. Bush, Romney and McCain were also destroyed by your side, always calling them racists, sexist, homophobic and of course the favorite of the left: Hitler.

Keep on with the Republicans/Trump supporters are racist, sending your antifa loons out to beat people and you will not only hate 2020 election you will have much bigger problems.

I've read a few of your rants now. What's the point other than showing your triggered? You don't like him. Fine. We get that. But he won the election and he's the POTUS, so what are you hoping to accomplish? Nothing you say will change the fact he's President. Don't like that fact? Hope he loses in the next election. Otherwise all your vitriol is wasted.

To be fair Weezer, its going around in the earth science circles that if a liberal doesnt let their vitriol out on a daily basis, they might comtribute to climate change. 😏

I didnt say they don't support his policies. I think they mostly do. They just enjoy yall getting in knots over his bombastic buffoonery even when it has no effect on his policy.

Why? I think it is a simple explanation. Rs have watched all the try-hard, milquetoast, squishy "conservatives" run for president. Some get elected. All get trashed in the news media. They get trashed in the opinion media. Pop culture derides them. Lies about "puttin' folks back in chains" or "pushin granny over a cliff" or "letting the poor die" become the defacto conversations. Did these men fight back? No. Dole, Romney, Bush 1 and 2, McCain et al just smile and take getting kicked in the nuts over and over again.

The Rs in flyover country are sick of it. They want someone who pushes back. They want someone who dishes it FIRST. They want to see someone kick other people in the nuts. Watching a fighter is fun for a change. So, the more yall, the media, and pop cultures twists over it the more they feel like he is doing the kicking.

This is such a myopic and distorted view of recent history.
Maybe 5% of the population was tired of the uppity guy.
But the conservatives loved Herman Cain. This isnt the 1960s. The old die hard racists are dying off everyday.
Yall need to look deeper than the default of racism if you really want to compete for the minds of the moderates.

I’ll let y’all decide which is Trump and which is not:

I'm having a hard time with the rules that keep changing.

Who is the racist out of this? You or me?

We have a petty, insecure, hyper-sensitive, egocentric, immature little snowflake for a president. It is embarrassing that our Secretary of Defense was placed in a position to issue such a statement.

So, Trump ordered that specifically?

Mick Mulvaney: 'Not Unreasonable' To Ask Navy To Move John McCain Warship | HuffPost

“I was very angry with John McCain because he killed health care,” Trump told reporters outside the White House. “I was not a big fan of John McCain in any way, shape or form.”

“But I would never do a thing like that,” he added. “Now, somebody did it because they thought I didn’t like him, OK? And they were well-meaning, I will say. I didn’t know anything about it. I would never have done that.”

Trump does not project strength at all. It is just the opposite. The extent of his insecurity and pettiness combined with the frailty of his ego makes him appear incredibly weak and fragile. Our Seventh Fleet had to throw a tarp over one of our own ships to protect his sensitive feelings. He is like a little girl. How embarrassing.

And how does the snowflake Trump respond to this? Trump said that the effort to cover up the USS John McCain was "well meaning". In other words, he appreciated the sentiment. How does his Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, defend it? He said that it was "not unreasonable'. That shows that the snowflake has enablers and sycophants at his beckoning call. This was a pathetic exercise in narcissism.

Perhaps I should have read the entire thread before posting my reply. However, it does appear you aren't telling the whole truth of the matter.

Now, when you find concrete evidence Trump himself ordered it covered, I'll listen.

Mulvaney said the request was "not unreasonable" while Trump said the request was "well-meaning". It was a silly request and it was inappropriate. They made it look even worse by defending it.

Do you even know what "well meaning" even means?

"Yeah, that guy's a dingbat. He means well, but he just naturally screws up."

Get the pine cone out of your ass over this one.

I think the whole media bias card is WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY overplayed. It's the right-wing's version of the race card. It is largely a creation of the right wing media.
Dole, Romney, Bush 1, Bush 2, McCain et al would never claim media bias to the degree the right-wing attempts to assign. They would acknowledge what everyone knows (that the media leans left) but would all say they got a pretty fair shake and that it wasn't that much different than the way dems are generally treated.
Trying to tell right wingers that the media bias card is grossly overplayed is like repubs trying to tell lefties that the race card is grossly overplayed. Falls mostly on deaf ears regardless the degree of truth.
