I guess you know what that does to our standard of living, which I'm not against - just never thought we would agree with narrowing the gap in global standard of living.I'm 100% in favor of free trade. That is why I support equaling our labor, environmental and pay regulations to that of the countries we trade with.
I see. But that wouldn't, in the end, narrow the gap in global standard of living, it would make it greater, wouldn't it?How the average American would react to working and living under the same regulatory conditions of the Chinese, Mexicans ext. It might open some people's eyes as to how un-free our trade with them is.
I'm pretty sure we may have different working definitions of standard of living. Mine is heavily tied to quality of life.So you are willing to lower your standard of living? By how much and when?
That is a lot of words for a non answer.I'm pretty sure we may have different working definitions of standard of living. Mine is heavily tied to quality of life.
I have always been willing to sacrifice the economic variable in my standard of living to better the quality of life variable.
So many think those two always move in the same direction. After a point, they tend to move in opposite directions. I've long been past that point.
You're horrible with the abstract; luckily for you, most in the PF can only deal in concrete..... Some approaching 2d.That is a lot of words for a non answer.
I don't care about your "philosophy". How much are you willing to give up monetarily? How much freedom of choice and movement are you also willing to give up. How many utilities, tools, utensils, vehicles, vacations, meals, clothes, material goods, medical care, etc.? How much quality of life?
Don't BS me with "philosophy". It's talk on a cereal box.
