Am I The Last "Fulmerite" ???

Here we go again:

vs Spurrier- 5-8
vs Meyer- 0-3
vs Richt- 3-4
vs Saban- 1-2
vs Miles- 1-2
vs Tuberville- 3-3, 1-3 since he's been at Auburn
3-5 in bowls since 99, including no bowl in 05
9 years without an SEC championship
He has lost one of his final two games in each of the last 9 seasons.

Kinda hard to argue with numerical facts!

He has a great winning pct. in the toughest conference in the nation. I can not understand how this can be ignored. How is his won-loss record reflective of "doing less with more" ? He is a Hall of Fame Coach.

Man, you tee'd that one up. The others have beat me to it... but look at the trend over time and look at his resume against the "better" coaches. I fear for you if you can't see the obvious painful decline.

Fulmer's success was predicated on having superior talent at a time when the conference didn't have the strongest contingent of coaches. Now that we 1) can't out talent and 2) face some of the best coaches in college football on an annual basis... fulmer's true colors come through. He can't hack it anymore. I hold no ill will towards him personally... but just doesn't have what it takes to win championships anymore.

Take a step back, look at it objectively and I'm sure you will agree.

After reading the majority of posts, it feels that way. What I don't understand is this. If Coach Fulmer says nothing, he is not taking responsibility for the loss. If he says he is very upset, then he is accused of just saying what he thinks fans want to hear. If he wins, that is not good, because he will "hang on to his job". If he loses he should be fired now.
In the era of coaches that will sell themselves to the highest bidder (Petrino, Saban etc.) and could care less about anything but a big contract, I will always support Coach Fulmer. GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I take it you also like rainy days, sharp sticks poked in your eye, wet willys, titty twisters, sadomasochism, self mutilation, etc.

'The Warden' has a terrible win/loss record. The so-called big win percentage has been stockpiled against Mississippi, Miss State, Vandy, Kentucky and the pickup patsy games. Would you let this sink into your thick head - Foolmer has lost TWO THIRDS of his games against top tier teams the past 6/7 years. He is a loser - not a winner.

Fulmer, Chavis and Hamilton.......Enemies of the State.

I believe he played for SEC Championship last year and clobbered Georgia along the way. Oh wait, I should not allow a fact to cloud the issue at hand.

Yes, we clobbered UGA, after getting clobbered by Cal and UF, then Bama. After we clobbered UGA, they got better. Can you say that about us? Can you really feel proud that we backed into the SECCG, that we were a missed Vandy FG from losing to them? Lucky wins over KY and SC? No, let's not let the facts cloud the issues.

Get your flak jacket on... You may be under attack for saying we "backed in" to ATL.

Georgia was a nice win. He still gets those every now and again. But if you look back over the past 5 years at games versus the power programs (generally top half of the SEC, ranked non conference foes and bowl games), fulmer has only won ~39%. LSU, Georgia, Florida and Auburn are all well over 50%, a couple of those are in the 60s.

And you have to admit, we got an inordinate amount of luck last year to get to Atlanta... and we still couldn't beat a demoralized, banged up team missing several of its key players, including its QB.

Its your perrogative to support fulmer, but its hard for me to imagine anyone looking at the trend of fulmer's results over the past 10 years to really be in his corner. If its just flat out because you like the guy, fine, but most of us prefer winning championships.

And that is why Fulmer MUST go. He was great for Tennessee in the 90's. The game has evolved and he and his staff refuse to see that. So it is time for them to move on before they tarnish their former glories. I'm trying to be nice here...:good!:

You do realize that after UGA lost to us they had just many problems with Vandy as we did (and even lost to SC). Your point is weak

I agree that the Vols backed into the SECCG last year.

Let's look at our friends to the south, UF, shall we? They had a coach that was winning 8+ games a year, bringing in big recruits and classes, and they ran him out of town. Remember Ron Zook? They got Meyer. What's he done? UF settles for championships, we merely settle.

My point is solid. So you are saying at the end of the year UGA wasn't better than we were, and improve more than we did? Oh, how did UGA do against UF? How did we do?

Florida, Miami, Ohio State (John Cooper), and Michigan (oh yeah, Carr "retired", not pressured to leave :eek:k:)

I haven't quite given up on him yet while I do feel that CPF needs to go; the main reason is he won't do what he needs to do and that is fire Chavis. Chavis is the worst defensive coordinator in college football and I have felt that way for years. The only reason Chavis's defenses have been any good is truly due the wonderful talent has been recruited. I applaud that CPF went outside of the family to bring in Dave Clawson and I am still waiting to see if the offense can be better than was shown on Monday. I feel that it will greatly improve(jmho) only time will tell. To me Fulmer was a great coach and held great promise but at this time I am not so sure but who would replace that will bring UT back to its place a the top of the SEC. Maybe Skip Holtz.

We didn't win the East.......we backed into it by default. You do know what that makes us not winning the SECCG don't you? First loser.

I somewhat agree with Volfan , but our d line has gotten no pressure in the backfield. That is the reason our db's get picked apart. We need Haynesworth and Henderson back.
