Alvin Kamara Appreciation Thread (merged)

I sick and tired of people lying like this. There's a difference between knowing Alvin was gonna be a good NFL player versus the SUPERSTAR he already is. Most of y'all were willing to say he would be good. None of y'all said he would be all-time great like I did.

I was the only person ANYWHERE that was shouting Alvin was a SUPERSTAR prospect that deserved to be the 1st RB taken ahead of Fournette, Cook, and McCaffrey. Nobody else was saying that. NOBODY.

I sick, too.

He was averaging 3.7 the year he decided to bail. All time yardage at a school is a meaningless stat since now most teams play 12-13 games a year, bowl stats are included, and most great RBs leave early anyway.

Well you said while he was at UT, which was not true. Also most people would disagree that all time leading rusher is not a useless stat at all. I would say the players would think it’s quite an honor.

AK should be glad he split carries with Hurd. The hits Hurd took with our predictable offense were frequent and brutal. It could have been AK.

Dumb luck.

He didn’t “split” carries, he got about 1/4 of them.

Point taken though....as much as it hurt the Vols’ chances to win by giving the ball so much to slow, plodding, 3 yards and a cloud of dust Jalen Hurd.....it ultimately helped Alvin now as he’s fresh, healthy and has very little wear and tear on his body.

Every time I see you bring up AK I will rebut with Justin Martin. You have missed on soooooo many

Don’t stop with just Martin.

Add in Marquez North, Kahlil Mackenzie, Josh Dobbs, Jalen Hurd, Cam Sutton......who are respectively, for the record, not in league, won’t get drafted, on the practice squad, will never play a down of NFLfooball as a running back, and on the practice squad.

Oh yeah, even throw in Ethan Wolf, who D4H is the next great nfl tight end/next Greg Olsen....he won’t be drafted either.

I’d include the full list of collegiate players from all teams who he says are gonna be great nfl players who he’s missed on thus far, but I’m certain Freak doesn’t have enough bandwidth....

I got more cred than anyone here.

I said Alvin was a Hall of Fame NFL player LAST YEAR.

Way before everyone else started jumping on the bandwagon.

Hahahahahahahahahaha. Cred? Why do you fail to mention all the wonderful predictions you’ve made that’s earned you the responses you’re getting? Let’s start with, oh I don’t know, maybe “Dobbs for heisman” and go from there! Haha

I love AK, just like I love all VFL's, but if he's going to start shooting down my Vols and the opportunity given to him to make millions from Vol fan ticket sales, etc., etc., then I promise I'll be as done with him as I am with that awful Arian Foster.

I know he couldn't give a rat's ass what I think, but someday he'll give a lot of thought to what Vol fans think. It's just not too important to him right now. He got a BUNCH out of his time at UT. I'm thinking he might be one of those 'self-promoters'.

Good post. And Hurd still should've been in the game when Kamara was stuffed on the goal line versus Oklahoma. Remember how mad UT fans were. It probably cost UT the game.

As a matter of fact, Kamara was getting drilled against good defenses just like Hurd. He went off against an A&M defense that was hot garbage. He is a really good player but lets not act like he didn't share the backfield with another elite player. A bunch of revisionist history.

And Kamara is starting to run his mouth too much instead of showing some class. Surely his experience wasn't that bad.

Thanks for not "splitting" hares. 1/4 does sounds more accurate.

I also believe Hurd softened up the defense for AK. He wasn't as slick as AK, but he did know how to leverage his body and deliver a hit.

They were "complementary" RBs. Thunder and Lighting.

Exactly. That is why they often say you need two backs. Please give me Kamara numbers against the best defenses. Kamara also forgets he was thought enough of to be a team captain. Why would a former team captain not act like one?

I admit I didn't read the article but based on the comments it seems to have a "me first" slant to it. That is like taking a shot at other players on the team.

You might actually want to watch the entire interview. I saw it. Its the media that typically eggs him on with some "what the hell happened at Tennessee?"

They're basically trying to cover their behinds for missing on him in the draft. So they are using his lack of carries as an excuse for their stupidity.

I was able to correctly predict Alvin's dominance in the NFL even with his limited touches. If they had any sense they would have as well.

Every post of yours, somehow turns into a D4H love fest.

Alvin's health/longevity almost certainly benefited from his utilization in college. Will someone chime in on how it affected his first contract? I don't know.

It's unprofessional to throw folks under the bus.

I've got no problem with "me first". When it's time to pay his electic bill, don't come knocking on my door.

The question is how much did it cost AK to play such a limited role at UT? He had 1st RD results at 3rd RD pay. The Saints need to give home a raise. I wonder if he got a bonus for earning ROY?

Dude you just keep making the most insane, illogical predictions I have ever seen.

When they hit he can claim genius.

Great way to work the system.

If you make enough predictions sooner or later they will hit.

I figure he is on other sites making opposite predictions to maintain his cred.

Bet both sides and you will always be a winner too.

The bad news for Tennessee is that we didn't utilize AK very well. The good news for AK is he came into the NFL with low mileage, wear and tear. He didn't even play for bama.

He should also feel fortunate to have Coach Gilespie training him.

Running Backs have a short shelf life in the NFL, so AK should be thankful...even if he did get a 3rd round Contract.

He is about to get paid

He should be thankful he fell to the Saints and not a team like the Browns. He is averaging around the same number of carries per game as he did at Tennessee, main difference in his production is receiving yards. Lets face it Josh Dobbs is no Drew Brees when it comes to throwing the ball, Dobbs running the ball had a lot to do with AK's number of carries.

So when Josh Dobbs wins a playoff game next year for the Steelers what will you say? Will you pretend you knew all along he would be a great NFL QB? Like so many of ya'll are pretending now with Alvin Kamara.

I remember at this time last year the same people loving Alvin right now were attacking me for saying he would be a SUPERSTAR in the NFL. At this time last year, ya'll were all on the Derek Barnett train. I was the only one that was saying Kamara was the far better NFL prospect.

Josh Dobbs and Cam Sutton will follow suit and become NFL superstars like Alvin.

Dude, unless you're 12 years-old you have some serious issues. Please believe me when I say this: NOBODY CARES.

Yep. And his NFL career was considerably extended.
