Alvin Kamara Appreciation Thread (merged)

1,500 yards from scrimmage, 14 total TDs, and 7.6 yards per touch = MVP

When you look at Alvin's production per touch, he was easily the best RB in the league. His importance to the Saints offense was also shown when he went out against Atlanta and they couldn't score.

Without Alvin Kamara, the Saints don't make the playoffs. He was that important. He made Mark Ingram and Drew Brees better.

No, it just means he was the most productive per touch. Last year it was probably Jordan Howard. That’s not the same as “best”

Alvin is way more valuable Gurley. Gurley was there last year and they were a lousy team last year. The only difference this year is Sean McVay. He's the reason they are in the playoffs this year not Todd Gurley.

And on Tom Brady, we've seen the Patriots have success without him. Remember Bill Belichek won 11 games in 2008 with Matt Cassell. The MVP of the Patriots every year is Bill Belichek not Tom Brady.

The only reason the Saints are in the playoffs this year is because of Alvin Kamara. They were lousy last year without him. They were lousy this year when he got hurt against Atlanta. He's been the key to their success. Without him they aren't close to being the same team.

Alvin Kamara = 2017 NFL MVP

You seriously say the dumbest **** of anyone I’ve ever seen that “watches film”

It was Andrei Kirilenko’s nickname, this is just BS trolling

Not sure if serious? If so let's get a few things straight:

1)I couldn't care less if that's the name they used and would hope that would place me in the vast majority.

2)Never heard of the other guy and on looking him up he's been around a long time.

3)I don't know if you've kept up with recent events but some people are a lot more uptight about such things these days.

In my head I pictured a play with the announcer going on with something like "And there goes AK47 blasting his way into the endzone leaving bodies in his wake!" and thinking how some of "those types" would consider that inappropriate.

Seriously though, throttle down with the "troll" accusations. Could I be feeling cold and overly cynical? Maybe...troll? C'mon man.

He played in the NBA like 3 years ago. You said you didn’t want to make it political but that’s exactly what you were doing, in exaggerating how these crazy “snowflakes” get offended by every little thing.

Considering you've now made a bigger deal of this than I did (nevermind intended) I'm just going leave a "whatever".

The trolling thing was too strong, my bad. But I don’t think it would be that much of a problem. I kinda like that he’s dominating without a gimmick like that though, plus his elbow tape and nose ring still make him memorable.

That was a great catch to give the Saints a chance.

Are there any Vols playing next Sunday? Is Barnett hurt? I don't remember seeing him yesterday.

I literally hate everything about Butch Jones, perhaps as a person. Specifically for his mismanagement of Alvin Kamara.

I hated to see him and the Saints lose on a bad play. They’ll be back to make another run at it next year.

I got the Saints as the early favorite to win the Super Bowl next year. They're team was loaded with rookies and second-year players this season. They'll be ready to take the next step next season.

Also I'm predicting Alvin Kamara will win league MVP next year on the way to 2,000+ yards from scrimmage and 20+ TDs.

The curse continues. Will he ever learn?

Kamara is really not used as often as he should be at New Orleans. He had 11 touches for 105 yards , 7.0/play yesterday. If New Orleans gave him 20 to 25 touches per game , they would have likely won yesterday and a couple more in the regular season.

Maybe the Saints staff doesn't see him as an every down back yet. Hasn't been one since 2013, his senior year of HS and that was a 12 game season (regular plus playoffs if memory serves correctly). To ask him to do such now in a 16 game season plus playoffs is a lot.

He's shown to be beyond legit out of the backfield receiving but he rushed for only 3.91ypc yesterday. In fact over his last 5 games he's averaging 3.44ypc.

It could be as simple as the NFL is a long season (he's not used to 200 touches) and that the rest of the league is scheming better. In any case his receiving production has become the far greater weapon vs taking handoffs.

OH no! You just jinxed Kamara! I hope you are proud of yourself! Just kidding D4H; however, you have proven over the years for everyone to believe the opposite of what you predict. On the other hand, I appreciate your optimism!
