My first time in New Orleans. Nice place, but pretty shady in parts. Spent two hours in Popeye's last night waiting for Holiday Inn to get their crap together. Regardless, this should be fun.

8:30 ET, ESPN, Michigan -3. Geaux Blue.

Judging by the crowd I've seen here so far, I'll be shocked if the crowd in the Superdome isn't at least 70/30 Michigan. There really aren't that many VT fans here.

Worst BCS game in recent memory.

If BCS games were picked based on who actually deserves to be there, this one would have been Boise State and Kansas State. But the turnout would have been disastrous.

Bull.

I agree K-State should be there instead of Va. Tech.

Bull is programs like Michigan, Notre Dame and VA Tech getting into major bowl games with multiple losses, without winning their own division and not beating anyone of note. The teams don't deserve to be there, but the bowls want sizable, monied fan bases from northern cities.

So you want Boise State, that beat one good team and loss to the other decent team they played, to go there? Come on. Besides, Boise knows what they have to do...go undefeated. And rightfully so.

This is the first year I recall not watching much of the games. I watched a little Stanford, the end of GA because a friend texted me is was a good 4th q, and a little of Oregon. I'm sure I have missed some good games and plays, but I could give a rat's ass. I think about that when people talk about outsiders opinions of UT. They have to realize that noone really cares, just as I don't care about these current teams that are still playing.

The worst BCS bowl matchup ever was probably Utah vs Pitt. Nobody cared, and Pitt was pathetic.

THat's because of their preseason rankings and the lovefest of Boise State. If Michigan and Boise played in the sugar, Michigan would beat them.

Purely speculative, but the money would be on Boise

And not sure how you can cite the love fest for them. Michigan is there, they are not. Ticket sales is the sole reason, has nothing to do with football.

You're a Michigan homer, so I don't blame you. And I HATE Boise. Their fans are the worst. This whole situation with Boise and KState getting jobbed is just another piece of evidence that bowls have nothing to do with football and everything to do with money.

At least one of the teams deserved to be in that game. But you're right, I can't think of a worse matchup -- Maybe OU and UConn last year?

Boise should be in this game, but they blew it vs. TCU. Shame because they absolutely blasted ASU. That was a pathetic matchup.

Boise knows what they have to do. Win every game (and rightfully so). And I was talking about the media lovefest with Boise.

They didn't do that. Whether it's fair or not (and it is), they play a lame ass schedule, and play in the Mountain West (which isn't as strong as last year anyways). They loss. That's how it goes.

If weak ass schedule was a real and legit determinant Virginia Tech would not be in this game.
