All Time NBA Players Thread - No Jordan vs. Lebron Debate Allowed

MJ never "carried" a team far. Kobe never carried. They either had great teams and went far or they didn't and didn't. Ray Allen wasn't on a great team until 2008

Not many players have carried a team deep. Olajuwon, Lebron, Jimmy Butler, AI....who else? That's probably the list.
What about Reggie Miller? He carried the Pacers

That was just him and Glenn Robinson. Not a great team, they got kinda far, but I also wouldn't say Ray Ray carried them.
crazy how uneven that trade was. Ray becomes a superstar for the sonics and Payton throws a fit, barely tries and gets out of town at the first opportunity.

they'd already been burned when kemp refused to go to Milwaukee, ends up in Cleveland and Milwaukee loses Baker at the height of his powers anyway

So, are you saying, Allen would have won, at least 2 Finals with the Gasol teams' like Kobe did ? If that's what you are saying ? I disagree.

Edit: I'm referring to your original post, that Allen would have as many rings as Kobe on the same teams

I believe he’s saying Allen and Shaq wouldn’t have butted heads the way Kobe and Shaq did, and they wouldn’t have stayed together longer. It’s impossible to know, though. What-ifs are a fun part of sports.

prime ray with shaq would have been absolutely sick

i think everyone got too used to thinking hes the clutch role player because he sacrificed numbers to play with pierce and kg, then wade Bosh and lebron

dude was a better 3 point shooter than reggie, better slasher, had crazy hops for someone everyone pegged as a 3 point specialist, and was an above average distributor for his position

the only thing kobe had him by a wide margin was defense

No. I'm saying Shaq never leaves because Ray Allen isn't a pain in his ass.

Kobe and Shaq both wanted to be Batman. Ray Allen didn't mind being Robin.

He didn't mind being Batgirl. He just wanted to hoop and chill.

He didn't like Boston because the whole vibe there was to try to out-alpha each other.
